We are running on a slightly different schedule these days, but want to take time out to honor Logan! She recently celebrated her three year anniversary on our team! She is a real Logan-of-all-trades in the pharmacy, inventory, patient care, and more. She’s doing great things on our team and loves taking on big jobs, as you can see!

Happy World Zoonosis Day! We all have pets and other animals in our lives daily, and thank goodness! We share companionship, love, purpose, jobs, and many other great aspects. Sometimes we share more than intended or wanted - a whole group of diseases that are contagious between animals and people!
World Zoonosis Day recognizes the beginning of the effort to help fight against these diseases. We don’t want these diseases in our pets or animals, and we for sure don’t want them in us!

Ways to help at home might include:
Keep pets current on parasite screenings and monthly preventives. Year round!

Wash hands after playing with your pets, before eating, and after handling any stool or urine.

No kisses on the face. Pets don’t use toilet paper, if you get our meaning. ;)

Avoid standing water on your premises, have safe pest control, and minimize interaction with wildlife.

Talk with your veterinarian about risks for your pets and your physician about human health.

Noahs was on the high seas this past week! For one of our team nights out, we enjoyed a fabulous cruise on the replica of the sloop Friends Good Will at the Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven, Michigan. The crew were excellent, informative, and entertaining. Some of our crew even got in on the action! We had a great weather, great sailing, and great people. Noahs Landing landed back on shore safe and sound with great memories for all!

Noah’s Friends! We hope you are enjoying the beginning of summer. We would like to remind everyone that pets need to be on their monthly heart worm and flea/tick preventive. 30/365! Every 30 days, all year round! We definitely have these critters and diseases in our area and have seen a sharp uptick (pun totally intended) in activity of these parasites and infections. Did you know that so far this year, almost one in ten dogs tested were positive for heartworm or a tick borne disease (Lyme, Anaplasma, Ehrlichia)? These can be potentially serious diseases. Yikes!

Did you know fleas and ticks can be active as long as it is over freezing? Some mosquitoes overwinter! What?! 😱

With the wackadoodle weather that is at home in the Midwest, it is better to be safe and use year round prevention. Please contact the office if you have any questions about your pet’s preventives, options, or testing. Stay safe out there, Friends!

We had the immense pleasure of attending the Elkhart Area Career Center Student Recognition Night this week. These students are achieving great things in so many different fields - some at the national level! Elkhart should be proud of these students and their potential in our community’s future.

It was our honor to present the first Noah’s Landing Veterinary Legacy Scholarship to a very deserving Kaitlyn Bontrager! She is preparing to begin her work towards becoming an RVT and working in the equine field. Pictured with her are Dr. Windy and her Veterinary Careers instructor, Laura Blair, RVT. Here’s to the next generation of the veterinary profession!! We wish you every great thing on your journey, Kaitlyn! Welcome to this amazing professional community.

Veterinary Reception Week was this week! Everyone on our team is so important in our care of the humans that come in our doors. Tracy, Janelle, and Shelby received some extra honor this week as our front line. They have three ears, 5 hands, and infinite smiles each to help care for all the pet owners that call, come in, text, email, or send a carrier pigeon. Thank you to our wonderful Client Care Team!

One of the great things about Noah’s is being an independently owned practice!
Our team is close knit and we answer only to ourselves and to you all.

We feel so honored that the Independent Veterinary Practitioners Association recently chose to highlight our team and clinic. Elkhart is vibrant and strong! We thank all of you who choose to support local communities and economy and support our small businesses.

To all our Noah’s Friends:
If you have old newspapers laying around, you can have them “recycled” at Noah’s. Our patients really appreciate having that extra layer under their cage mats in case they have an accident. Just drop them by any time during business hours. Thank you!
