Easy a Horse Experience is an opportunity to come meet the horses of NorthWind, learn about care, colors and markings, how to groom, how to lead, and the entire time be playing a game for prizes. The Horse Experience lasts for an hour.

March 17 the Horse Experience starts at 11, March 20 starts at 230, March 25 starts at 11. Space is limited! Cost is $15 a person. Open to ages 8 and up.

Riding is great for riders of all ages and I love seeing families enjoying them together!

Some horses take some extra time. They come in and we get to work. We make leaps and bounds in hand and gain their trust but sometimes the saddle work takes much longer than anticipated but we don't quit. We keep working hoping the pieces come together under saddle, doubting ourselves and wishing we were further along and somewhat feeling like we are failing the horse and the client.

Then something magical happens. The epiphany ride. It's the ride where somehow, someway, all the pieces fully come together. Then we get to finally see what the horse could be in the future. It's the ride where we can literally feel the horse breathe and start to put all the bits and pieces together. It's the ride where we get reminded we can do this job but sometimes kindergarten takes longer for some than others.

These two boys have been interesting in their own ways but this week have finally had their epiphany rides. Are they finished? Not by any means but they now are starting to "get it" and even look forward to their jobs. Yes they are!

Today's cold gave us a great excuse to try different enrichment objects for our horses to help alleviate boredom. They loved them and most got introduced to somethings they have never tried.

We learn so much more than how to ride in our lesson program! Yesterday a group of kids got to learn how to ground drive on some of the best horses in the barn.
