‼️Walk the Dog‼️
🐾Here's your reminder that it's going to be nice out this week. Take some time to burn of some energy by walking the dog. Here are a few tips...
🐾 leash your dog in areas that require leashes such as the city limits. leashing your dog is the easiest way to maintain control and safety.
🐾 Be proactive in watching what's going on around you. Whether it be other people walking their dogs, cars, wildlife, ect. Give them space by maintaining a safe distance.
🐾Let's hang out.....while I address some proper dog behavior at certain locations and events!
🐾 This is a great resource for our community!
🐾 Be sure to reach out to elko vet if your animals are needing to be updated on their vaccines.
🐾 It's that time of year when most people start traveling more... if you can't take your dogs with you here are some options for care while you're gone.
🐾 Be sure to call in advance availability can be sparse with the influx of need during summer months.
🐾 no matter who you choose be sure to give clear instructions and make sure you feel 💯 comfortable with your choice.

A few things to remember now that it went from freezing 🥶 to 🥵 80° weather.
🐾 Clean Fresh Water is a must... dogs need water to help aid digestion and nutrition absorption. Staying hydrated is critical for your dog's health and wellness. Your dog will be drinking more as temperatures increase so be sure to check their bowls throughout the day.
🐾 Shade or Shelter that has lots of air flow... Overheating can happen fast. Having shade to escape the sun is a necessity to prevent overheating and dehydration.
‼️only 3 spots left‼️
🐾 The weather is getting nicer and your dog may have forgotten their manners over the winter. Don't worry we have multiple training options.
🐾 If you're interested in seeing if we're a good fit to work together Comment ❤️ to schedule a free evaluation!

With a baby coming in November I've had find ways to work my dogs differently. New ways that still stimulate and help them burn energy but don't require so much physical demand from me. As our lifestyle changes we have to pivot an make changes with how we interact to keep our dogs healthy and happy!! Right now I'm teaching kita to walk on the treadmill. We start super slow in 5 min intervals and break for play between Reps. As an added bonus it helps with her cautiousness with escalators. ( Disclaimer- I'm am always right next to her the whole time. This is not something done unsupervised or without a guided plan!)
🐾 Mocha 🐾 🔅 Mocha is a corgi begale mix. She's Is learning her name. When her owner says her name she is to make eye contact. This was at the end of a 30 min session. If you listen the owner marks the behavior she wants with the verbal praise of good. 🔅 I love working with puppies! Laying the Fondation for the adult we want is so important.
🐾 Smokey🐾 Is ready to find his new forever Home. We took Smokey in as a rescue and now he's at a point where he can thrive in a new space. He is so sweet boy with a decent amount of energy. He likes to play hard and get all the loves. 🐾 Male 🐾 German Shepard 🐾 5 yrs old 🐾 Good with other dogs 🐾 Curious about cats but not reactive 🐾 Loves to go on walks. 🐾 Crate trained ‼️ he does have a health condition called Panus. He eventually will be blind. ‼️
🐾 How do we help dogs that lack confidence or have anxieties. The most effective things I've learned are... 🔅 Do not to coddle them or remove them from the situation they don't like. (Example - if a tarp flaps and startles your dog and they bold while on lead. Have the dog sit and see the tarp flap for a few mins then walk away calmly.) Its ok to be uncomfortable with the proper support. 🔅 Do confidence building exciecises. Such as trick training, obediance, body awareness work, ect. 🔅 Exposure is key, they need to know that the unknown doesn't mean panic. They need to experience different surfaces, noises, textures, smells, environments.
🐾 Meet Smokey he is a 5 yr old German Shepard that came to us last night to be apart of our rescue program. He is so sweet and gentle and I can't wait to see who his furever home will be. 🐾 Smokey was going to be ethinized for being dog aggressive when tested at the shelter. He owner tired multiple ways to keep him in thier yard but he's an escape artist. I called the shelter and they gave the owners my number. his owners we so kind and just wanted him to be helped because they were at a loss. We're greatful to be able to serve our community in this way. 🐾 Smokey will be trained in basic obedience, work through any behavioral issues and then be up for adoption. We go to the vet Monday to get evaluation of health. I will keep you posted about his progress!
🐾 Defending your space and not letting other dogs invade yours or your dog's personal space is crucial. It shows your dog the value in your leadership. 🐾 This little Boston terrier, cautious and young. We are working through her reactivity to other dogs. She is doing amazing so far!!
🐾 Luca was with us for 2 weeks for his board and train. He is a very shy, skittish dog. We worked on building his confidence and being comfortable in situations he may not like. 🐾 Last weekend Luca went to group class to work on his environmentals and I couldn't be more impressed with his response! Look at him walk around all the dogs acting natural and sniffing his surroundings.
🐾 Multi dog homes have to function in a way that fit your lifestyle and goals. I've been working with this family for a few months and I'm thrilled with the progress. 🐾 The two aussie's you to bark constantly. The play fighting would turn to rough and the owner did not like the behavior. 🐾 The German Shepard even though he looks full grown is still a young dog under a yr old. We had to work hard on not letting his pup energy create over arousal in all three dogs!
🐾 Puppies fill my cup... they are so moldable and Eagar to please. 🐾 Cowboy is the most handsome lil guy. He is a french bulldog and quite smart! He on his 2nd session of the puppy pack And has learned 🔅 Name recognition 🔅 Recall in progress 🔅 release command 🔅 Crate manners 🔅 Started learning down
🐾 Puppy classes are some of my favorite parts of training. All the cuteness and bumbling energy! 🐾 Rowdy is a 10 week old merle Cocker Spanial. He in learning to recognize his own name! Can't wait to see how much he grows in our time together.
🐾 Maddie is learning to work through being uncomfortable. When we unexpectedly came upon other dogs, she responded in an completely appropriate manner.
🐕 Comment below if your dog enjoys 🚗 rides? 🐾 Kenya is a whole vibe, when she's riding around with mom.🐾
🐾 Loose leash 101 workshop went great this past weekend. Thank you, for showing up for yourself and to build the bond with your dog's! 🐾 Things we learned- 🔅 How to work through over excitement. 🔅 The dogs paying attention to the tension at the end of the lead. 🔅 Auto sit when my human stops. 🔅 Greeting strangers on lead. 🔅 Greeting other dogs on lead. 🐾 This was such a fun group to work with can't wait for the best one!!
🐾 This is Maddie and she is fearful of other dogs we've worked through her barking everytime she sees another dog. 🐾 Now were using Kenya a completely neutral dog that won't react to help build her confidence. If you look you see Maddie avoiding by leaning on her owner. Avoiding is an acceptable response at this stage. 🐾 The goal is to get her to a point were she walks confidently no matter who is around. It's small steps we take to get her where she needs to be!
🐾 Multi dog homes can be a struggle, everyone has to be on the same page. These 3 would bust through the door and immediately start rough housing and next thing you know they are rolling eachother down the road. 🐾 The way we are working on this is by adding value to the owners. What you say has to matter. There is still work to do but it's all micro steps that create the big picture you want. Can't wait to continue to see their progression.
