Love this transition video of Buttermilk Girls with adopter Julia in Illinois. 💜
Here's another overdue unboxing video!
Singular is a 3 year old, 16.2 hand, bay gelding who came to us directly from his wonderful racing connections. Singular is unraced but was in training this year and his most recent timed workout is from mid-June. At that point he retired after a small tendon injury (more on that below).
Singular is by Street Boss and out of a Silver Train mare. This means he is a grandson of Street Cry (IRE) and descendant of Ogygian, Lemon Drop Kid, Kingmambo and others. He's definitely a solidly built gelding at just 3 years of age and seems to carry a lot of class.
Singular had a great intake evaluation with our vet. A recent ultrasound of his (SDFT) tendon showed some enlargement and fiber disruption but no core lesions (which is great!). He was also sound for his evaluation. Our vet said to hand walk him for a few weeks, and then start letting him into a small paddock mid-July. She said he had an excellent prognosis with no longterm limitations.
So far Singular has been wonderful to handle and work with. He has no vices and will make someone a very nice horse!
New arrival Nimitz enjoying a scritches break during farrier day. We'll post more about him soon, but just love how settled he is in a barn full of dogs on a busy day, just a few days after arrival. 💜
Stay tuned for more info on him. Hoping to get him on the website before the end of the day.

I don’t know how Glorious Mahomes is still with us! Mahomes has the best personality and is very quiet to ride.
Success Stories Driven by After the Races: Fiftytwoweekhigh
Success Stories Driven by After the Races: FiftyTwoWeekHigh and adopter Amy!
I am so excited to share this success story with you all. Amy was one of ATR's first ever volunteers and she came out consistently for years, whether we'd be mucking stalls all morning or exercising horses, she was there for it and the real deal.
When she was ready to adopt and picked "Marley," I was so happy for her. Here's to your second decade together!
If you want to donate to help create more success stories like Marley's, visit:

Success Stories Driven by After the Races: Kompromat!
Adopter: Cindy in Virginia
As ATR continues in its search for a permanent home, we hope you will enjoy another success story and update from one of our many adopters. Hear what Cindy has to say about her experience with Kompromat (now "Jinx") and ATR.
Kompromat came to us in partnership with the New Start program at Penn National and was adopted by Cindy in 2020 during the crazy early days of COVID. I've loved watching their partnership develop over the years. <3

Opening Hours is a very cute, bay gelding who arrived in partnership with New Start at Penn National. This smaller guy was recently gelded two months before arrival but seems to be a good boy. He raced just 6 times and is retiring sound.
Opening Hours is by The Factor and out of a Tiznow mare. This means he has some cool horses in his pedigree. First impression on the farm is that he has no vices and seems sensible. We're excited to have him evaluated by our vet and get him turned out.
He's not expected to have any limitations, but stay tuned!

Moon Warrior is a big, 5 year old, bay gelding who arrived recently by way of the New Start program at Penn National. This handsome guy is of course by Malibu Moon. He's out of a Tabasco Cat mare and raced a total of 20 times. His last race was just in April of 2024 and he retired with a soft tissue injury.
We're still getting his imaging and some more information together from the track, but were impressed by the presence this horse had coming off of the trailer. Someone else must have noticed that presence in him because he once was an RNA for $290,000 at a yearling auction. For those not auction savvy, that means $290,000 was not enough to purchase him!
We'll get more information put together and updated on his page on the website as we do. Until then, stay tuned!
