We are excited to share a perfect match and wonderful adoption! This is Casper! He came to us as a rescue from another rescuer who had a difficult time. His original owner had a hard time keeping up with his care and was brought into us to improve is situation. He is a middle aged to older Barefaced Cockatoo who is 35 years old and tends to live about 50 years. Here at the rescue he gets fresh fruit and veggies. High quality bird pellet mix and seeds or nuts as a treat. He also gets natural sunshine and lots of out time, play time and tons of interaction. Cockatoos are known as Velcro birds who form a very strong bond with people. When left alone, they will become very loud, destructive or self mutilating. Cockatoos are one the most rehomed birds and are not recommended for beginner bird owners.

These are a few photos of Casper with his new owner. He has shown so much happiness with this individual and it was obvious from the first day they met, that they were a perfect match. Casper picked is owner, and its a beautiful bond.

We're feeling super nostalgic about rescue. We miss doing it so much. Rescue building is the next project and we are on our way back to doing what we love. We want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who has been patient while we're working past all the struggles we have had to endure and overcome. This process has not been easy but knowing we are supported has kept us going and we are beyond ready to open our home and heart to those lives that need us.

In the meantime: Here is a success story from our history book! This is Tyrion, a tiny failure to thrive kitten and only survivor of his litter. He was only 1lb at 12 weeks... about 1/3 to 1/4 the size he should have been. At 8 weeks he was the size of a hamster for reference. He has grown up to be a loving healthy normal sized cat. He loves all the other cats and here you can see him snuggling with the couch because Sherlock left for food. He is around 2.5 years old now!
