This winter has gone from warm to cold and back again! Here are some tips for when the temps drop below freezing:

1. If your pup isn't built for the cold, be sure to limit daily dog walks and outdoor time to 15 to 30 minutes. Sweaters and booties will help them stay warm!

2. Dogs with thick coats who are built for the cold weather can stay outside longer, but be sure to monitor them.

3. Watch all dogs for signs of cold intolerance, and bring them inside immediately if they start shivering.

4. Wipe feet after walks to clean off any salt and avoid irritation.

5. Use dog-safe balm on dry noses and paws to prevent skin from cracking.
