"Meet Jynx! This guy looks like a mishmash of different dog parts all glued together, and. the effect is adorable. His pout is next level and his little toof sticks out every once in a while. But behind the frowny mug is a sweet, quiet guy. He enjoys simple pleasures, like a leisurely stroll or just resting in the sun with a nice toy. He can be a little timid at times, but is brave about new things (like acorns or funny noises) when he can look to a person for reassurance. He's a skinny little guy but he knows how to sit and takes treats nicely, and he seems like he'll really blossom with some love. With other dogs, Jynx has been daintily social so far. Jynx is just around a year old and weighs 49 lbs.

If we don't give our dogs what they NEED, we will never have the dog we "WANT".
Every dog has the same basic needs, yes.
Food, water, shelter.
But every dog has different "other" needs.
Some need more physical exercise.
Some need more mental stimulation.
Some need more human companionship.
Some need more canine companionship.
Some need more outside time.
Some need more inside time.
Some need more patience.
Some need more understanding from us.
Some need more leadership.
Some need more fun.
Whatever it is, in order to have a GREAT relationship with your dog, make sure their needs are actually being Met!

When dogs' needs are met....they are calm cool and collected.
"Taz" had to walk/run 3 miles on the treadmill throughout the day today, he took a trail walk out at the park and also a short walk around the block and visited neighbor kids today.
"Zora" took a short walk around the block, went outside to go potty several times today, and visited with "Taz" and "Jenny" throughout the day.
"Jenny Gump" pottied several times today, cleaned every single crumb in our house ;-), and showed "Taz" and "Zora" how to be a balanced dog.
Every dog has specific needs.
We have a small house. I'm not complaining by any means. Not everyone can live the way that I do. I know that. But I also know that EVERYONE can teach their dogs this stuff. No excuse. U choose to adopt a dog, u take on a responsibility to MEET the dog's needs. If u don't know what that is....I CAN HELP U!! Some dogs need more physical exercise. Some dogs need more mental stimulation. Some dogs need more sleep :)
At the end of this day, These dogs are CHOOSING in this video to all sleep in their cages, on their own, with the doors open. I am SO extremely proud of them.

These dogs need u to commit to THEM! PLEASE follow thru with helping and teaching them. PLEASE!

"TAZ"
Looking for a PALLIATIVE FOSTER home for the rest of his life. (If u don't know what that is message me!)
As we, humans, get older we have bladder control problems sometimes(have to p*e in the middle of the night or even have to wear diapers!!).
As we, humans, get older we get arthritis. We move slower.
We, humans, in general, have anxiety ALL OVER THE GRID! And some of us take meds for it.....am I wrong??
We, humans, in general, drink too much/eat too much. Again....am I wrong?!??
SO....why do we expect a dog to NOT have quirks or personality traits when we adopt them??
This guy has anxiety and he drinks water alot and p*es frequently. Everything is all controlled by either meds and/or limited water and frequent potty times outside! (Schedule/Routine is IMPORTANT for ANY dog!)
He's 12 years old!!!
He lived his life outside and never had a routine as far as potty for how long?? I'm definitely teaching him a new lifestyle but it TAKES time and it must be followed thru with his adopter too. There's not just a magic pill to make it all go away and he's "perfect" again!
I believe in being honest. Always have always will. Liars do nothing for me.
Please Share this guy so he can find his FOREVER foster! Fidos takes care of everything as far as medical bills and he is under their care for the rest of his life so PLEASE find it in your heart to love this dog. He DESERVES IT.
He's AMAZING with kids, older people, dogs and SO much more. Focus on his "GOOD".
BE understanding. Someone is understanding with your quirks aren't they?? :-)
OH! And he's also deaf! But that does NOT matter!! It doesn't stop him from living his best life....so why is it a handicap for us?! Deaf dogs are actually easier to train in some aspects, in my opinion, and I can always help u with that :-)

25+ years working with dogs Professionally in one aspect or another and I'm always asked "what's wrong with my dog? How do i change his behavior?" And not "what's wrong with me that is causing my dog to act the way he/she does? What can I do to change MY behavior so that my dog can learn from ME?"

Think about it.

Our newest foster "Taz".
"Serena" found her home :) ❤️
This guy needs a very special home. He has high anxiety. He's on anti-anxiety meds. He THRIVES on routine. He's a creature of habit. He's also 12 years old. Being a senior, he needs to potty regularly. His water needs to be limited. He needs to be shown what is allowed and not allowed in his new home. As ANY dog, u can't just throw a brand new dog into your home and they automatically behave. They need patience and leadership and guidance. And again most importantly...PATIENCE.
He's also deaf. He needs calm. Not crazy energy.
"Taz" is a very special boy. He has Special Needs, but he is a very special boy.
My Heart is for dogs in general, but dogs with anxiety have always been my heart. I've helped ALOT of anxious dogs. After being diagnosed recently myself with High Anxiety, it's hitting closer and closer to home. Meds and Behavioral Therapy have to work together to help anxiety. For Humans AND for dogs. One can help but both help alot more.
Today Joseph came home and we were talking about Taz and I usually explain to him what I'm doing to help the dogs we get. I mentioned that we have to help him by letting him outside alot so he doesn't have accidents in the house because he p*es alot. And he says, "and mom I KNOW u can help him with that, because I've seen u help so many dogs like that. I know u can!"
Let's find this SWEET boy his Retirement Home!! ❤️☺️
He's AWESOME with other dogs. He's AWESOME with people, young AND old alike.
He LOVES his daily walks and being outside.
LOTS of info, but getting to know him has been a pleasure and I am SO grateful God gave me this passion. To Help. To Teach. I have lots to learn too, and LOVE to work each dog separately.

To All My Clients with "Selective" Dogs.
It's OK!!!
As long as YOU ARE BEING THE LEADER THEY NEED and NOT the leader your feelings WANT to be for them. It's OKAY! ❤️
I have a dog that, if introduced correctly, he will tolerate most dogs, but he will definitely not be EVERY dogs' BFF.
I have had him for over 8 years and if in the wrong hands he would be dead.
Instead. He has leadership. And Taught to look to me for direction.
No doubt he will absolutely defend himself if needed. ANY dog will.
He still has random moments if there's a bad owner with a reactive dog, BUT he knows exactly who to go to for direction....and that's not his own bullheaded self :)

One of my favorites. Going thru some stuff from when I first started professionally dog training. This book has ALOT of good info in it. Read it :)
My family thought I was nuts getting into all of this "dog" stuff when I was younger, but I don't ever regret learning how to help these creatures. I still learn every single day! Dogs teach us SO much, if we would just LISTEN. ❤️
