For Izzy’s birthday this year she wants to go to New Holland horse auction on July 24th and pull a young horse/pony preferable out of the lose lot pen.

Max came from the loose lot pen, he was just a yearling that had minimal handeling. Iz worked with him from the day he came home to halter break him. She eventually broke him to ride, used him for the rescue to stardom event, and even took him roping.

After Max left she moved on to finish breaking Don another youngster we bought at auction. She did an outstanding job with Don and he is now at a potential home.

Iz likes the youngsters, she likes the challenge and seeing the end result.

Please consider sending a donation to help Iz pick out a youngster in need.

It’s that time of year where we are putting hay in the hay loft. We usually fill the loft at least twice a year which is one of our biggest expenses. We are currently paying $5.00 a bale. Please consider sending a donation to help cover hay for our rescue horses/ponies/donkeys. Our PayPal is [email protected] or you can use the link https://paypal.me/izzyslove

Over the weekend we accepted this pretty mare as an owner surrender. She belonged to an older lady who sadly suffers from dementia. It was very hard for her to part with her horses but it was in their best interest. We picked the name Stella for her and as you can see she needs some TLC. She will see the farrier or Monday and has been slowly introduced to a new diet. We will be scheduling a dental visit for her along with a vet visit for coggins/shots. If anyone is interested in sponsoring any of her care cost we truly would appreciate the help!!! I can’t get the donation button to work yet again 🙄. Our PayPal is [email protected]

Stay tune for updates on her!!!!

It’s that time of year when everyone is due for spring shots/ trims/ dentals and every daily care. Just because we are not taking new rescues in we still are responsible for our sanctuary horses. At the moment none of our sanctuary equines have sponsors and donations are low. I work two jobs to continue to provide care for all of them. I made the commitment to take them and I will continue to support them.

Iz and appreciate any and all help we get in their care.

The time has come to say goodbye to this inseparable couple Buckingham and Betsy. Buckingham is losing weight despite our best efforts. We have worked for years to keep him going but unfortunately we are losing the battle. The weather is looking nice this week so we are planning to make the dreaded call to our vet.

We made the decision to put them down together as they are attached at the hip. They share a bond with one another that just can’t be broken. Please consider sending a donation to help with their final expenses and to give them the next couple of days filled with as many treats as they can get.

With cold weather coming we thought we would share some tips on keeping your horses happy and healthy.

Make sure your horses have plenty of water. If available give them warm water.

Feed extra hay

Make sure they have adequate shelter

Check your blankets to make sure they are 100% water proof

If your concerned about your horses water in take you can add some salt to their feed/water or use a tube of electrolytes

Make sure your barn is well ventilated

You can also make their dinner a mash with some warm water.

Grooming also helps stimulate circulation

Good luck everyone and stay warm!!!

Well after battling Facebook for almost 2 months we have finally gotten our donation button back. We missed out on giving Tuesday and it’s been a struggle over all. We have a handful of horses here that require special grain and hay stretcher. Donations have been sparse and no one is sponsoring any of the horses. I am working 2 jobs trying to keep everything going. I made a commitment to these horses and I am doing my best to give them the best life they have left. Sanctuary horses are often forgotten about.
This is where donations are important, sending donations to help care for them, buy their special feed, and let them have what years they have left. Please consider making a donation to help but a bag of hay stretcher or a bag of senior feed. Every dollar makes a difference.

We still have not gotten the issue fix d with our fundraiser button 😞 it’s been 2 months now and Facebook has been zero help. We are still looking for sponsors for Buckingham and Betsy to help cover their feed cost this winter.

I know 2 donkeys that were on an adventure 🙄. Seems like when the cold weather comes they want to be up at the barn.
