Time for another Senior Sunday! This week, we are so happy to introduce everyone to BEAR! Now, don't let Bear's cute face distract you: there's a lot to learn about this sweet boy.
Bear was originally surrendered to Prairie Paws because his owners were moving and couldn't find housing that would let him come along. When we met him, we quickly learned how confident, sweet, and chilled he is! He was adopted and got to spend a few months in a home, but that was not the last of Bear here! Unfortunately, Bear had to be returned because it was clear that the pace of his new home was just not suited for an old man like him. With some treatment, he has shown improvement since coming back to us! He is 7 years old, and genetics and time just have not been particularly kind to his body, so we now know he (and his achy joints) needs a calm, easygoing place to retire.
Although he is short and looks squishy, Bear would really benefit from a home without young children or other dogs (because let's be real, those two can be crazy sometimes!). He is doing much better now, but we know that they stress him out, which is not what is best for anyone. HOWEVER: if you can provide a calm home without those two things, Bear is THE DOG to meet. He is cuddly, playful, well mannered, and even potty trained! He just needs that special family to come and find him.
Our staff really loves spending time with Bear, so we have lots of photos to check out below. If you think you know of a good home for Bear, please don't hesitate to reach out with questions or information. Help us guide this senior citizen into his golden years!!
