Can you help this rescue find a new home? πŸ™

Today we were pushed to our limits and felt as if our whole world had been crashed down! Everything we had built up was being taken away from us.

With the support of our supporters and neighbours we have realised we are more than whats on the field... we are a community! We have a bigger team than we first realised and we wont go down and be defeated!

Currently we have 14 horses, 1 cockerel, 4 hens, 2 sheep, 2 pigs and 13 feral cats that will all be homeless from the 8th of july which worries us beyond imagination however we know we can not give up! We can not break down! We have to find a solution!

Safe haven animal rescue works in two parts- through foster home and the stables!

The stables is the home to the rescue because its were the majority of animals there are sanctuary animals. Those animals came here to stay due to their own difficulties which mean they can not easily be rehomed. We appreciate everyone offers to contact other rescues or provide temporary accommodation and if we get super stuck then we will go back to these however for the next 8 weeks we will be putting our everything into finding some local land which can be used.

With Β£118 in our bank we are far from able to buy any land so are continuing to look for rented grazing land of atleast 9 acres. This ideally needs to be within 30 minutes from welling. If you would like to donate towards potential legal costs and towards whatever land we eventually find please do so via bank transfer to safe haven animal rescue

We understand that the landlord would have his own reasons behind this decision. With the cost of living and financial crisis we understand that this is impacting everyone differently.

Recently as many of you will be aware that we have made a school, field shelter and new fencing. This will all need to be dismantled and relocated once we find somewhere, in the nearby future we would love your help in this large task.

When times are tough we all pull together, im not sure how much tougher things can get so we need you all more now than ever!

We are going to need you all to share our posts to potential landowners who can help, to share for help when the time comes to pack up and to share for when the time comes that we may need more financial potential help.

We are going to dispute the decision to cancel our dog show however if anyone has anywhere we can host our annual dog show and a moving party we would really appreciate it as fundraising is sooo important!

If anyone would like to set up your own fundraisers to help then now is the time more than ever!

Thank you all for being the best supporters ❀️

I don’t usually post images of stallions fighting but this was something very different for me - a fight in the water! The bay roan stallion on the left had been do***ng the palomino stallion with the family on the right for at least a month. The bay roan has a huge strip out of his hide on his belly torn off- it looks painful. Before the roundup he had a big beautiful family and now he is relentless in trying to take over this family. The roundup left far too many stallions on their own and the fighting has been intense. I saw over 20 bachelor stallions in this area in one morning. Some are young, many are older and have lost their families forever. This is no way to β€œmanage” wild horses.

β€œThe death toll at Aintree is simply appalling and an indictment of the shocking safety record of horse racing...It’s time for change with horse welfare becoming the number one priority and for safety measures in the sport to be strengthened"

Horse manure is a great source of fuel! Backwoods Home has instructions on how to make horse manure bricks to burn as and claims it has a higher heating value than seasoned hardwood. https://www.backwoodshome.com/your-manure-pile/

Morning Mantra: "Your heart knows the way, run in that direction.”
Whenever you are confused about a decision, remember this quote by Rumi.
Then, stop overthinking and start listening to your heart.
When your heart and mind get in sync with each other, you truly make the best decisions.
Run towards what you love, towards what speaks to you.
Run as if your life depends on it, because, it does.
Follow your passion and you will find your purpose.

Breathtaking! Run wild and free beauties πŸ™

Recent studies conducted by the Institute of Heart-Math provide a clue to explain the two-way β€²β€² healing β€²β€² that occurs when we're close to horses. According to researchers, the heart has an electromagnetic field larger than the brain: a magnetometer can measure the energy field of the heart that radiates from 2.4 meters to 3 meters around the human body. While this is certainly significant, perhaps more impressive than the electromagnetic field projected by the heart of a horse is five times larger than that of a human being (imagine an electromagnetic sphere around the horse) and it can influence straight into our own heart rate.
Horses are also likely to have what science has identified as a β€²β€² coherent β€²β€² heart rate (heart rate pattern) that explains why we can β€²β€² feel better β€²β€² when we're close to them. Studies have found a coherent heart pattern or HRV to be a solid measure of well-being and consistent with emotional states of calm and joy-that is, we exhibit such patterns when we feel positive emotions.
A coherent heart pattern is indicative of a system that can recover and adapt to stressful situations very efficiently. Many times, we just need to be in the presence of horses to feel a sense of well-being and peace. In fact, research shows that people experience many physiological benefits by interacting with horses, including lower blood pressure and heart rate, higher beta-endorphins (neurotransmitters acting as pain suppressors), decreased stress levels, decreased feelings of anger, hostility, tension and anxiety, better social working; and greater feelings of empowerment, confidence, patience and self-efficacy ".

Angels sent to guide us... 🐎

I was very moved by this painting I came across. It was painted in 1894 and is so reminiscent of the videos circulating on social media of the horse dubbed "Doctor Peyo" who visits people in hospital - a gap of some 127 years. The look on this horse's face is just so moving.

It also reminded me of the poignant stories from the First World War, where soldiers and their horses formed incredibly close bonds, providing physical and emotional support and in the end, sacrificing their lives to help the humans in that senseless battle.

The enduring bond between horses and people grows ever stronger it seems through the formalisation of equine therapy in its many forms.

Wow - a beautiful page to uplift and inspire the hearts of horse lovers πŸ˜ƒ Galloping across the lush greenery of New Zealand, forests and beaches with a free running herd. Spectacular! And I'm feeling a little bit jealous... Anyone have room on their boat for 3 cobs, 2 cats, 1 dog and a girl 😁
