He’s doing well. He’s very loving and showing that he’s is aware of his commands. Obedience is the target.
The end of this video more than surprised me! If you saw his first, you understand why. I almost dropped my phone, but it was just a kiss. He’s begun to trust me and is clearly happy with our relationship.
Lesson one. It’s also our first walk. Charles was a 12. A medium start. Definitely not an issue. He’s a good one. I’ll say up front. Great choice. Best wishes on getting this guy a home.
Charles!! Is actually.. doing fine. He peed and pood. Enjoyed some grass and a nice walk. A quick lesson left me pleasantly surprised and done for the night. He ate. Good for him 😊

Maybe not
More great time with Zappo. He’s become a friend. Here’s some basic brushing and full touch. He is a great hug partner. We don’t discourage that. It’s a great reward for a job well done.
I’m so bummed. I screwed up 10 minutes of a great, easy nail trim. Zappo did amazing. He was very touchy about touching. We’ve worked very hard to get him adjusted to regular, full touch. He really seems to enjoy everything.
Maddy has definitely been busy with the dogs here at Alpha. Here’s Bruno taking a walk on the treadmill. It’s too hot outside.

The place command is a great way to teach your dog to relax in the house and just enjoy the quiet with one another.
In this case, Zappo would much rather be in Dan’s lap and licking him but that’s not allowed right now (but is a great reward for a job well done at the end)

Perhaps with grooming. He’s large and quite a handful. We, as trainers must help him to realize that this isn’t going to hurt him. He’s the only one who can make the choice.

I’m definitely having a blast with Zappo. He a loving boy who’s doing great with touch exercises and some work with guarding. Basic training along the way.
