We love the updates our adopters send us on the thousands of animals we have been able to rehome. Here is Vincent! He is now Laszlo. He is so happy and precious. He still has bad separation anxiety but his new owners try really hard not to leave him unless they absolutely have to. He is loving this snow! Thank you for adopting him!

SOS will be closed to the public tomorrow, Wednesday, 22 January. We will have a skeleton staff on hand to take care of our dogs and cats only. We hope to be open Thursday after the sun has a chance to clear the roads. Stay warm and safe everyone. And keep your animals inside!

UPDATE: This position has been filled.
We are currently seeking a full time kennel workers. The job is 30-40 hours weekly. Must have a flexible schedule and able to work weekends (not every weekend). Duties include, working with dogs & cats. Must be comfortable with both large and small breeds. Must have knowledge on the behavior of the animal so we can place them with an appropriate family. Must have good people skills and willing to work with volunteers. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Our animals are our top priority and kennels will be cleaned daily & thoroughly; toys swapped out every other day. We work in heat, cold and rainy days. If you are interested in this position, please stop in the shelter and fill out an application between Noon and 3 PM (any day of the week, including weekends). We will not be answering messages on Facebook; you will need to come in and speak to the staff. Thank you.UPDATE:

Meet Bones! Bones was found as a stray with a bad laceration to his back foot. Unfortunately nobody ever came looking for Bones. Bones is waiting patiently to complete his vetting. Due to the holidays vetting had to slow down a bit but we are back on track. Bones will be fully vetted and ready to meet his family soon. Since Bones is currently in the “intake phase” we have not allowed him to interact with other dogs but he seems eager to interact & male friends. If you are interested in adopting Bones, we do require a pre adoption application. We are sure this handsome boy won’t last long.

Bo got a special delivery 🚚 today. We want to thank everyone for all the blankets, straw and jackets for our babies. As temperatures drop, we are adjusting to the temperatures. We are in need of tarps, clear showers curtain liners, heavy duty zip ties & bungee cords. We will begin hanging clear showers curtains in our cattery to block the wind as well as tarps to block the wind in our dog kennels.

Snorlax appreciating the small things; a yard with a fence & grass. To watch a dog who is normally scared of his own shadow become a silly dog shows us that; Yes, this underdog is very deserving of a home. We love seeing that tail wag.
