2022 marks 10 years of Scarecrow’s Pride and we can’t thank you for trusting us to help grow your garden! While we will continue to bring you the best soil amendment on the planet, we’ve had to make a few changes. We are only selling in bulk or by the yard, and discontinued bagging our product. Our farm is doing well, we have added more cows and acreage. Our valuable employees just need more time to take care of the girls. However, if a truckload would suit your needs, GE & B Nursery in Enumclaw and Wittkopf Landscape Supplies can help. More bulk retailers may be added soon. Happy spring! Bags are being made this weekend will be delivered to your favorite garden store soon. And, GE&B Nursery currently has bulk in stock. Unfortunately, sales at the KCD Native Plant sale have been cancelled for this year. As for us, we’ve all stayed healthy and the girls are always busy wanting help your garden! Sad to not have this event. Hopefully, KCD will still have their Native Plant pickup and sale next week.

The SubUrban Farm & Garden Expo scheduled for this Saturday has been cancelled. We made this decision after Public Health – Seattle & King County provided guidelines designed to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. One of the guidelines strongly recommends cities not hold gatherings of 10 or more people.

We’re as disappointed as you are, but we hope you’ll understand that we made this decision in the interest of public health.

Grown in Scarecrow's Pride, Joel Holland of Sumner, WA with his 2363 lb. giant pumpkin won the 2017 Half Moon Bay Pumpkin Festival Weigh Off and $16,541! This is the 2nd largest pumpkin ever grown in the WORLD! Last fall, Joel added 30 yards of Scarecrow's Pride as mulch in his patch. We are elated for the Holland's and are glad they continue to trust our product.

Now is a great time to plant annuals! My whiskey barrels have red geraniums, white bacopa and blue salvia. Scarecrow's Pride was added to the top as a mulch to the existing potting mix. This will help keep these plants adequately hydrated throughout the summer. Plants and Scarecrow's Pride available at GE&B Nursery.

Our rhododendrons are just starting to bloom! These plants set their buds in summer and need water to be prolific. I deadhead and then mulch with Scarecrow's Pride when they are done blooming which keeps much needed moisture in the soil dying a hot summer. -- Leann

Gardens love worms and worms love Scarecrow's Pride! Earthworms are always a sign of healthy soil. Scarecrow's Pride is high in organic matter which encourages worms to flourish! This photo was taken yesterday in a flower bed that was amended with Scarecrow's Pride last fall.

This is what happens when you forgot that you put your spent tulip bulbs from last year in a bucket to replant in the fall. Oops! I'm going to put some Scarecrow's Pride over the top and pretend it was intentional. ;-) --- Leann
