This year given the crazy changes we will not be able to find the time to put our shelter up on the Ferret Christmas Giving Tree.

We always love and appreciate everything we have sent to us for our hospice.

Due to not having the hospice on the tree this year we of course wanted to still share our shelters needs and wish lists.

An amazing ferret rescue SilverAngel's Ferret Rescue & Sanctuary had a surrender come in recently with a very large chordoma on his tail. He is getting surgery for it right away (tomorrow) to have the tail amputated.
Many ferret rescues right now have a huge influx of ferrets coming in, so the shelter funds are running low. So any help towards Kempers surgery is greatly appreciated!

Minks are extremely close to my heart as some may know. And this rescue is run by a very good friend of mine who never turns a baby away, and does everything in her power to keep them safe and healthy. Sadly they need help more than ever right now with the hot weather and their food intake. Their whole AC system has failed and they are struggling to keep the adult minks and the babies cool. They are having to put a lot of funds out to get a new AC system which sadly takes funds away from the minks normal care (food, medicine, litter, interactive toys, water supply etc). I am reaching out to the community to try and get assistance for them so they can continue caring for these minks that escaped certain death in the hands of fur farmers.

Hello! I apologize for the lack of posting, the rescue has been in emergency mode.🔥Monday morning some time after our post that day, the AC/Central Air Cooling died and we've been in an emergency state to make sure that all the animals are kept just out of heatstroke risk by constantly checking water levels, offering frozen treats/meat, ice cubes in water dishes, frozen water bottles, blowing loose standing fans over water since regular fans don't help animals that don't perspirate. All of this has been a major and stressful feat so far as we have limited freezer space and ice cube making capabilities while having 3 separate large rooms dedicated to the animals in our care with multiple cages.

We've looked into various temporary and backup options for cooling while waiting on the AC to be replaced (our unit type is not being manufactured anymore), which is going to likely take a couple weeks and about $22,000 later (the furnace will be replaced as well to match with the new AC system, the AC alone is roughly $12-13K). The average temperature inside is running around 83F, which is too high for ferrets or mink, so we are looking to getting a couple portable aircons/swamp coolers to use right now until the AC issue can be fixed. Costco currently has some on sale for $300 that might work.

We have a GoFundMe page running right now for this heat disaster, but direct donations through Venmo, PayPal, Cashapp and Zelle can be put to use right away in getting some emergency measures resolved faster.

Santas slay is already packed full with gifts Brad and I get them. Christmas Eve we will put the rest of the presents from all the Santa’s under the sleigh. Then we will go live on my personal page and Priscilla’s Ferret Hospice page to allow them to open them 🙂 of course it needs done in groups as some ferrets just don’t like others… I mean we literally have a group called “The Hot Flashes” 😝 We can’t thank everyone enough for picking a hospice baby off the tree to spoil but also to make some of our kids last Christmas’s their best! And thank you to many who have sent food, puppy pads,syringes etc for the hospice. It really helps a lot!

Almost done!!!

To answer a few questions

I made them and they are actually all the “spirits” of our past ferrets, hamsters and cats included. So, I made a story up about them.

Once a year on a very special day many rainbow bridge furbabies come down to play. They love the excitement, they love the toys. Although they can’t touch them, they can see them being shared with all the other hospice babies here at Priscilla’s Ferret Hospice. They come to stay to check on the others, they leave behind many gifts and remind the ones that are still here, that even though one day they’ll be gone, they’ll be home for Christmas every year.

Our hospice kids we have now are actually written on Christmas light bulbs because they light up our lives being in it. And we want them to resemble the energy that they all have left in them and because They’d knock the real ones off 😒

We would like to introduce everyone to Two of the “Cromwells” that came to live at the hospice. Left is Kalabar and right is Dylan. Both older boys 4/5, and both in good health other than teeth and possible adrenal disease and insulinoma. We wanted to thank everyone who donated to their vetting 🙂 it’s much appreciated!

Lulu is going nuts for their ball pit that we brought back out.

Keep them interested and take advantage of their memory skills.

We will get one big thing and have it out for a week or two sometimes 3 weeks. Then we put it away for a few months and introduce anther big item like a swing, then retire that for a while than reintroduce those things back to them because guess what? It’s brand new to them all over again! 😂 and they’ll actually play with it again.

Example:
Ball pit is out for 1 week (about time they lose interest and about the time I lose interest in picking the 10,000 balls up 20,000 times a day)
Ball pit gets stored away
Introducing the BRAND NEW hula hoop swing that they had 3 weeks prior to the ball pit…..
Swing stays up for about 2 weeks.
Swing goes away
Introducing the BRAND NEW dig box! And guess what?! It smells EXACTLY like them!!! I wonder why?! 🤔
Maybe it’s born with it….maybe it’s maybelline. And just like Victorias Secret.. I’ll never tell 😜

Hi everyone! I am so sorry I don’t update my hospice page as often as I should. I tend to get super busy with all the elders and forget. We will be having their Christmas pictures up coming this weekend! We have gained a few more hospice kids over the past several weeks.

Mojo is around 8-9 years old
He has adrenal disease
But that does not slow him down. He has bounced from different homes till coming to stay here forever. So he took several months to come out of his shell. But he finally did come out and boy is he a fun old man!
