State is over and life is going back to normal.
All competition aside, great lessons were learned. My biggest take away from this past week was how well these girls took care of their horses and how close they became to each other. Whether they were winning, having a hard time or taking a green horse the girls made sure horses came first and helped each other every step of the way.
All 3 of these girls have a competitive spirit that is going to take them places in rodeo and in life, but being able to say that cultivating good positive attitudes is my biggest brag.
Congrats all three of ya! I’m very proud.

Three things here.
1. I want to thank Katie Surratt for catching this shot last weekend. Great pictures, and truly an above and beyond photographer!
2. I did NOT teach her drop her reins to hold a barrel up!!!!! 😂 😂 😂

Rides trails outside with no problem, trailers with other horses with no fuss about which horses you can and can’t put her next to. UTD on everything, (shots, shoes etc)
I’ve had her at the ranch on consignment for 3 weeks now, she up for consideration because the current owners are looking for something geared more toward cutting/show horses.
I’ve hauled to roping practices and little kid rodeos to gain her some exposure, and she’s done anything and everything I’ve asked her to do. She’s ready for someone to make her a head horse, breakaway horse, barrel horse, ranch horse YOU NAME IT! She needs to go and do!
She gets looky if she’s unsure about something, but she’s never done anything stupid to hurt herself or you. That’s why I’m going to suggest a confident or intermediate to advanced rider. Two rein, neck rein; it doesn’t matter.

Had a little extra time this morning and I know a lot of you girls out there are working your own barrel horses yourselves, and I know how frustrating it can be to get one going.
So I put together some simple things that you should work with on your horse to make patterning them on the barrels a little easier and more fun!
