2020 13.3hh Flashy Buckskin Pony Gelding

Lord Farquaad is looking for his next adventure! This guy already has tons of riding miles and exposure to many different experiences. Farquaad has been exposed to cattle, water, bridges, log dragging, tarps, flags, ditches, horse camping, and has been schooled over fences and shows potential. He has been successfully shown/schooled by youth riders Working Equitation, Ranch Riding, and 4-H. Farquaad is a fluid, beautiful, and forward mover and has been started on flying lead changes, knows his buttons, WTC and has a great whoa.

Farquaad would do best with a confident and experienced rider due to him being forward and young. This would be the perfect step up pony, he has the tools and athleticism to go in many different directions.

Kind and willing 5yo grade QH Mare. 14.2+hh.

W/T/C under saddle, turns, side passes, can work a gate, drag, hauls, handles, ties, bathes, stands for farrier respectfully.
Skylar has been shown at the World Cowboy Dressage Show in CA and consistently placed in the top 2, she does some liberty, has been exposed to cattle and shows interest, navigates through obstacles, has been through water crossings… this mare is great on the trails.

Great work ethic. Athletic, cute mover, and the potential to go in many different directions. Would make a cute ranch sorting, ranch riding, or just all around working western prospect. Light and responsive. Skylar would do best with a confident and forward rider until she is finished.

Gorgeous gaits and has an exotic look about him that will definitely get you noticed in the show ring. Has been ridden outside, on trails, and been ridden through obstacles. Hauls, bathes, clips, ties and does all the things a show horse should do, and loves having a job. Would excel in a competitive show program.

Wow... what a heck of a year it’s been, I can’t believe it’s been around year since I started this business and oh my has it flourished!!! I am beyond blessed to have the opportunity to work with such gracious clients and talented horses so early on in my career. God is so good!

Thank you everyone who has recommended me, or come to me for your business so far, I just feel oh so blessed to be able to do this for a living... And all my mentors along the way of course, I can’t wait to continue to learn and grow from each horse and every client!

I am currently pretty booked up and I am taking deposits for training starting in July. Feel free to contact me for more information or if you want to get your name on the wait list for training.

Thank you Stacey Riggs for letting me join your team and for helping me grow, I don’t think I would be in this position at this moment without your support!

*** Thank you Caryn Stenberg for allowing me to start your super cool c**t and for giving me the opportunity to ride with Jim Anderson Higher Horsemanship ***

It matters.

It matters where your horse goes for training. When I was a young intern with some of the “best” trainers in the world (I won’t share names/barns), this type of raking was more common than not. In fact I really don’t recall a horse in the barn without some sort of swelling, bruising or bloody sides or mouths.

It matters.

I also remember going to the shows with said horses worrying about what people would say… what a ring steward would say… But no one, NO ONE, ever said one thing about it. How did they not see these marks on the horses? Why was no one saying anything? Money? Prestige? I still don’t understand.

It matters.

I left that world as soon as my required internships were up and I never worked for another trainer like that again. The longer I train, the more and more I realize… there is a better way. And the better way can get just as impressive sliding stops, spins or piaffes. But it may cost you a 3 year old futurity. More often than not, if you are a fan of the “better ways”, you are also full of love and empathy for the animal, not just the sport. So you’re going to look for ways to keep a horse sound. Bring them up right. And slow.

It matters.

I want to be a Horseman, not a “trainer”. A horseman respects the horse. Mind, body, soul. We all have to make a living. But as a horseman I am always upfront with people about how I view quick fixes or demanded results. I don’t play that game.

It matters.

We can all keep learning better ways. We can all work to change the industry. We can choose the trainers we send our horses to. And we can alert others to bad practices. Always be a steward to the horse first, sport second. We can all do better.

It matters. These horses matter.

“A relationship built on trust is always stronger than a relationship built on truce.”

There’s such a fine line as to whether we cut a training session too short, or run it too long: Timing, timing, timing....

You want to end a training session when your horse is relaxed and receptive, not when they’re exhausted and confused. Strive to end on a good note, but don’t become too greedy and ask for too much, too soon.

I have training openings, visit my page, or shoot me a message for more information!

My goal every ride to have my horses perform NOT out of fear, but perform because they were taught. I constantly remind myself each and every day to keep things simple, and to stay out of their way. In the end we need to work WITH them, not AGAINST them. 🙂

I currently have openings for training!

Performance Horses, C**t Starting, Consignment Horses, Problem Horses, Lessons, and more!

Since I happen to be on a c**t starting kick, here's Qimber's 9th ride; her first ride in the open arena.

All that preparation on the ground and in the round pen pays off. She already knows her "buttons", leads, and transitions. Pretty uneventful, right? She is fully trusting with me on her back. And obviously, she LOVES to be praised.

Why the hackamore? I start my horses in a hackamore before moving to the bridle so they can learn how to follow my feel. I transition to the bridle once they are light and responsive. The bridle is a tool that achieves more refined softness, NOT control.

I have openings for training starting in March! C**t starting, problem horses, performance horses... Please visit my page for more information, also feel free to contact me!

Thank you :)

Good things take time.

I take my time when I start any horse under saddle, I want to give them the proper tools on the ground so the transition under saddle goes nothing but smoothly. I like to “slip” the first few rides on them and have them respond like it’s no big deal, due to the little extra time and preparation I do on the ground first.

I have openings for training starting in March!

I specialize in c**t starting, problem horses, and performance horses. 🙂

"When each day, you feel like you know less and less, but each day your horse is a little better, that's when you know you're on the right path."

Never stop learning. Never stop growing. Always remain grounded and stay humble.

Here’s a little clip of Dusty’s first time being ridden bridleless today! She’s been in my program for two months. She is a 5 year old Welsh Pony.

In my program I really emphasize riding your horse with your entire body, not with just your hands. I work with horses in many different shapes and sizes, and in different stages in their training 🙂

I have openings for training starting in March! Please visit my page for more information.

A true partnership. There is no better feeling than feeling like you and your horse are one. The trust and bond that you can create is incredible.

This is Flash, one of my personal horses. What’s so neat about this, is this is after quite some time off, no bridle, no saddle, no neck rope. This is horsemanship.

I have openings for training starting in March! I’d love to help you meet your horsemanship goals. Visit my page for more information, send me a message!

Thank you for scrolling through 🙂

This is Ellie Mae, a project I took on this last summer. Ellie came to me for 2 months to get started under saddle. I can’t stress enough how important it is to gain control over each individual body part!

Hi Everyone!

Thank you for taking the time to come across my page and read this post, I figured I might as well introduce myself!

My name is Kara, I’m 22 years old and I’ve had horses my whole life. I’ve had a little over 10 years of experience training and showing horses. I’ve learned from a handful of trainers, including J.R. Robles, Ian Francis, Rob Pokorny, Stacey Riggs and more. I am currently assisting J.R. Robles in his program. I have a firm but fair approach in my program that is natural horsemanship based, but has a little twist off from the wonderful horseman’s I’ve learned from over the years. I have experience in c**t starting, performance horses (primarily in reining), and problem horses.

I have had this horse obsession disease from as early as I could early remember and my passion for communicating with horses effectively and helping others has continued to grow.

2020 is a year of new beginnings for me as I start my business! The facility I will reside my business is in Estacada, OR, and I will have training openings, starting March! You can contact me via phone or messenger, the information is located on my page. I would love to help you! Please feel free to like and share my posts!

Thank you very much for scrolling ☺️💕
