QUICK TIP: It’s extremely dry right now in our area, give the dogs more lead and a little more time. Scent doesn’t stay still in dry conditions. Let them work it out and don’t push them!!!

Twas the night before opening day when all through the land All the trackers were stirring waiting for hunters to get in their stand
The collars were charging after all their care All in hopes of strapping them on and hurrying to get there
The deer were nestled all snug in their bed. With dreams of corn and sweet licks dancing in their head
Momma on alert ready to stomp and blow Hunters had settle in waiting to get one with their bow
When dawn broke it was such a clatter Arrows were knocked and waiting to hear a little patter
Away to the air it flew like a flash. In hopes it would find its mark and make a huge smash
As the deer ran with a kick the hunter knew this one took a lick
As the time passed thoughts of gravy and fried in his head But when arrived there was no sign that this one may be dead
Scurrying around here and there Frantic from no sign it could be anywhere
He reach in his pocket to phone a friend. He knew there’s a team that could shortly bring this to an end
The joy on his face when the truck arrived. The dog box was full and they were ready to come alive.
With a quick check and a chat. The dogs were off like a ball off a bat
Within a few steps and glancing at the path the handheld beeped and the tracker began to laugh
They got em ole boy. shouted the tracker. To thick for the cart I hope you’re a packer
The joy in the eyes and the high fives for two different reasons but they both knew they’d remember this one for the rest of their lives
With everyone loaded up a congratulations and a handshake off to the skinning shed for one and on to the next for the others sake
The bonds were shared the friendship was there the next one the same to show the magnitude of care!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
