Fjords & Farmacy 🐓🍄‍🟫🍅🐴 PVF is a small scale Norwegian Fjord Horse Breeding farm in SW Missouri. We would love to partner with local restaurants/bakers!

Here at PVF our goal is to produce family oriented Norwegian Fjord Horses with good minds. We are starting slow with plans to grow our herd as we find horses that will be a good fit for our program. Aside from horses, we are also selling fresh produce from our raised bed garden. In the near future we will have farm fresh eggs available as well! Please don't hesitate to reach out. Starting the new year off with a new hay feeder!
Huge thanks to Richard at 417 Fabrication for cranking this out for us in less than a week. The horses went right to town and will be set for this coming week of frigid temps!

Gio, Elsa and Dailia didn’t seem to be too jealous that they don’t have one just yet 😆

Gio went out yesterday in a group of 3 other horses and was this steady self the entire time. Carrying me and Niko, getting caught in the rain, leading & following. He’s so solid and level headed.

If you want to add some amazing temperament to your fjords, consider breeding to him in 2025.
We will be standing him to a limited amount of outside mares starting in March/April. Contact us for more info through our page or website.

We got a heck of a rain storm last night, making for a muddy mess 😩 Max seemed to teach the youngsters how to appreciate having run-in sheds. Dailia changed colors rolling in the mud, per usual.

Galant and Max got new roommates. They have all shared a fence line for nearly 4 weeks now and we’ve had zero issues.

I’m happy they can winter together. Less stock tank heaters to worry about and easier to feed!

Max stood by but didn’t intervene with the introductions. He’d talk to them if anyone acted up, but he’s such a good babysitter. Poor guy, the ages in the pasture are now ranging from 10 months to 20 years 😂

I also watched Nyssa flip the stock tank heater out of the trough. Was I surprised? Absolutely not.

Late post from a few weeks ago.
Took Gio, Elsa and Dailia out on a group trail ride. My sister rode Gio, I rode Elsa and my friend rode Dailia. My mom rode my friend’s amazing gelding ba****ck! 🤭

It was the perfect weather for a girls day!

Can’t beat this weather in December!
Hit the trail today a new saddle and a side pull with a friend and her 3 year old gelding. The boys were fabulous!

Saddle fitting fjords (especially when you have different body shapes and multiple horses) is so tricky! Short backs, some round, some not so round 😵‍💫 I tried a Leon Liversage long Kentucky for a month and ultimately decided I wasn’t happy with the quality and fit. Today I was given a Bob Marshall round skirt barrel saddle to try and fell in love! I love the deep seat and weight of this Bob so I’m happy it worked out. I think it looks great on Big Red too and he seemed super happy in it! 😉

I still use my Wintec saddles regularly for a treed option. They work really well and adjust so easy.

Bob (teal) and Walter (blue) got their teeth floated today. They likely had never had their teeth done before 😔 Their hooks and points were so bad. Walter still had 2 wolf teeth that got removed today, and Bob had what appeared to be a fragment of a wolf tooth which was also removed. Both boys did well. Walter was aged at 15 and Bob was aged at 13, so right on point with the age of “mid-teens” we were told.

Thank you Destiny @ Diamond D Equine Dentistry & PEMF Therapy for coming out and taking care of the boys on this chilly afternoon.
