When 16-year-old Ivy was found alone in someone’s backyard this November—confused, vulnerable, yet still gentle as a whisper—no one knew just how much strength this tiny senior carried inside her. BCAS brought her to safety, and thanks to your support, Ivy now has a chance at the warmth and love she had been missing for far too long.
Despite all she’s been through, Ivy greeted her rescuers with quiet trust. Her foster mom describes her as “the perfect combination of sweet, calm, and loving.” Ivy is happiest when curled up beside you for a peaceful nap, or simply lounging nearby, offering silent companionship. She’s also been wonderfully kind to the resident cats—easygoing, respectful, and content to share her space with serene grace.
But Ivy’s journey hasn’t been without challenges.😿
Our vet discovered that Ivy was born without one eye, and her remaining eye has low vision, making the world a little dimmer and harder to navigate. Yet she adapts beautifully, finding sunny spots, soft beds, and the gentle hands that make her feel safe.💞
She also lives with arthritis in her hips and knees, a common hardship for senior cats like her. To keep her comfortable and mobile, Ivy will need monthly injections of a new arthritis medication called Solensia for life—a commitment that ensures she can enjoy the simple pleasures she loves: warm naps, and leaning into her humans for affection.
In addition, Ivy has the onset of symptoms related to kidney disease which will need monitoring and treatment as determined by our vet. We’ve been fortunate to receive some donations toward Ivy’s care, but her ongoing medical needs are significant.
This Giving Tuesday, we need your help to make sure Ivy receives the lifelong comfort she deserves.
