PBJ is excited to announce our new partnership with JARM -- Jasper Animal Rescue Mission -- in Ridgeland SC. PBJ volunteer Beth Stevens, who now volunteers with JARM, reached out to us to initiate the partership, and JARM arranged a transport flight for 8 cats and kittens to Culpeper, VA ... we met the flight (courtesy of pilot Chris Allen) at the Culpeper Airport and brought them the rest of the way, thanks to Juli Verrier and her PURRHmobile.

Stay tuned for more information about the JARM cats, available for adoption through PBJ!

January 29th is National Tuxedo Cat Day… and here are some Pawsitively Fasciniating Facts about Tuxedo Cats.
With their good lucks and feline charms, it's no wonder that tuxedo cats have gone to many, many places no other kitty has gone before:
• Only one cat has ever made it to the top of Mount Everest and—you guessed it—he was a tuxedo cat. His human carried him, of course, but it's still pretty impressive, right?
• A tuxedo cat named Simon went to war during World War II and ended up receiving a medal for his services. How did he help the Allies? By protecting British food supplies from pests and mice.
• Yep, a tuxedo cat even made it into the White House. President Bill Clinton had a pet Tuxie during his service as President of the United States.

Meet Amber, a sweet and gentle gray tuxedo, 7 years old who has been waiting a very long time to find her furrever home. If you are interested in meeting Amber, please visit the Humane Society of Fairfax County at https://hsfc.org/adoptions or email [email protected].

Coming soon! Wednesday Jan 29th is National Tuxedo Cat Day ... and here are some

Pawsitively Fascinating Facts about Tuxedo Cats

Tuxedo cats get their name because of their typical color pattern ... with a black back and white belly, these cats can look like they’re dressed in little tuxedos. But tuxedo cats don’t just include those that have a black back and a white belly: any cat with a black and white bicolor pattern (or even gray and white) is officially considered a tuxedo.

For example, you can have a tuxedo cat that’s completely black except for a few white spots on its face. Others will have little to no white markings on their face and instead have white necks and paws. Many tuxedos also have a “mustache” marking! Others will be mitted, which means they’re entirely black except for their paws.

Bernard, pictured below, is an example of a beautiful tuxedo cat soon to be available for adoption through Pets Bring Joy, coming to us from a rural South Carolina shelter.

If you are looking to add a kitty -- tuxedo or otherwise ;o) -- to your home, please visit our Petfinder page at https://pbj.org/animals.html ... thank you!
