Turtle Training 4. Adding a strange object as a distraction. ,
🐢💪 Exciting update! We've upped the ante in our positive turtle training sessions by introducing distractions for our wild pond turtle! Watching this clever little shelled student targeting the stick with even more focus is awe-inspiring. Stay tuned as we continue to push the boundaries of positive training!

Looking for a Loyal, Fun, Cuddly, Companion?
Meet two year old, EMMA, born 10/2022. Emma is the daughter of a pointer mix, and a traveling salesman (likely with a good dose of lab in him). Mom and pups came to Virginia right after birth, and lived in a foster home until weaned at 8 weeks. Never lived on the streets; she came right to family's home. Sadly, for health reasons, Emma's family must move to a senior apartment. Thus, we are looking for the absolutely best new setting to re-home loving and sweet natured 40 lb Emma.

Want a well trained dog, eager to please? Emma has successfully breezed through courses in basic and advanced obedience, two levels of nose work, basic agility, and AKC fit dog. She can be timid in new situations, and if she sees another dog, or, infrequently, a person, she will step back and bark. We have, since Emma was a pup, worked with trainer, Jennifer Pennington (Lead with Fun), and her fear-free techniques to help re-focus Emma at such times DO work. Emma, when excited to see a dear friend, has springs in her feet: so best for her not to be with small children, lest her enthusiasm might topple them.

Emma grew up with another dog in our home, she has play dates with a Samoyed, so she will play well with another dog IF the introduction is gradual and slowly eased into. Boisterous dogs scare her.

We love our Emma, and will do all we can to help ease the transition to her new home.
