Located on the grounds of Grand Hotel Fish Camp in Fairhope since 1958, we offer Luxury boarding at our Grand Lodge and active play for your dog.

We focus on individual needs and offer all services including Training, Grooming & Custom Canine adventures. Located on the grounds of the historic Grand Hotel Fishing Lodge in Fairhope, AL., Belle Shain Kennels & Farm has offered Training, Boarding, and other pet services since 1958. Our services include Grooming, Dog day care, short and long term boarding, various types of training, behavioral

issues, and physical therapy We are an AKC Fit Club facility. We offer Canine Good Citizen titles. Your pets are able to take advantage of our 34 acre facility and river to swim and play every day they are with us. It is truly a camp for your children & Dogs. We have had many breeds as pets and provide training of all types to all breeds. We occasionally offer group classes. We offer private training at our facility or your home. We have the most fun with our Retrievers, Spinoni, Terriers and other sporting breeds. We train daily and compete in AKC Field Trials and Hunt Tests as well as other AKC Performance sports. We have successfully competed in Master National and National events. We usually have puppies or trained dogs available for sale. We have a train the trainer program. I was just a young kid. Cotton Pershall was his trainer and I was bird boy and gunner later on. Still have a Model 12 given to me by Mr Olin who owned NILO kennels.

The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) was founded as a private, not-for-profit foundation in 1966 by John M. Olin, a well-known inventor, industrialist, philanthropist, conservationist, and sportsman.

Olin was an avid sportsman, hunter, and field trial participant. When hip dysplasia began to impact the performance of Olin’s dogs, he organized an initial meeting with representatives of the veterinary community, the Golden Retriever Club of America, and the German Shepherd Dog Club of America to discuss means of limiting the disease. This ultimately led to the formation and incorporation of the OFA.

Off Leash Training. It takes time, practice, consistency, and Command. Before our students leave us they are proofed in various environments where distractions abound. Their owners too! We like trail walks because we Love the Outdoors!

He was initially a little sad because his housemate had passed but then he realized who was here to cheer him up!

We are glad to have him BOARDING for a couple weeks.

Since 1958 we have been training Families and their dogs. We include everyone because it is so important for good manners and we find it helps the children understand the reason for good manners. Lifetime with a child and Lifetimes with your dogs; It is a process of growing and understanding, not to be wasted because it goes by before you know it.

Cesar breaks this down into 3 personalities/ temperament, it gets a little more complicated than that but we agree with him because we are here to simplify.

That is what we do for owners and their dogs. When you attend our Train Alongs you learn how to understand your dog and work with them on their Manners. We call it “Command Control”
