We focus on individual needs and offer all services including Training, Grooming & Custom Canine adventures. Located on the grounds of the historic Grand Hotel Fishing Lodge in Fairhope, AL., Belle Shain Kennels & Farm has offered Training, Boarding, and other pet services since 1958. Our services include Grooming, Dog day care, short and long term boarding, various types of training, behavioral

issues, and physical therapy We are an AKC Fit Club facility. We offer Canine Good Citizen titles. Your pets are able to take advantage of our 34 acre facility and river to swim and play every day they are with us. It is truly a camp for your children & Dogs. We have had many breeds as pets and provide training of all types to all breeds. We occasionally offer group classes. We offer private training at our facility or your home. We have the most fun with our Retrievers, Spinoni, Terriers and other sporting breeds. We train daily and compete in AKC Field Trials and Hunt Tests as well as other AKC Performance sports. We have successfully competed in Master National and National events. We usually have puppies or trained dogs available for sale. We have a train the trainer program. In 2014, April 29, the rain started here in Fairhope & Daphne. Rained all day and into the night. I thought surely it had to flood worse than i was seeing. I did not want to be an alarmist. I finally made the decision to go start knocking on doors and warning neighbors. Some thought i was crazy. I paddled across the river to my cousin’s house where a friend was staying. She was an artist and I knew she would not fair well if what I thought had to happen actually happened. She listened to me and decided i should take her pets first which i did. The plan was for me to come back and get her, about 30 minutes timewise. When i got back i almost could not get her out of the house. A wall of water had just silently moved down the river. She almost drowned. I almost did not get us back. I ended up getting getting her back to high ground where my wife and Dad could help her and her pets. I went back out and rescued more people. People on roof tops. I had to take my axe to get through one roof to rescue a lady. These people still thank me today. None of us had any idea Fish River could get like that. We were truly scared and fearful of not only our lives but others as well.
So today Texas has been on my mind.
Yes, it used to a work day but my mind has drifted because i know what happened in Texas, exactly …
