Our services include Grooming, Dog day care, short and long term boarding, various types of training, behavioral

issues, and physical therapy We are an AKC Fit Club facility. We offer Canine Good Citizen titles. Your pets are able to take advantage of our 34 acre facility and river to swim and play every day they are with us. It is truly a camp for your children & Dogs. We have had many breeds as pets and provide training of all types to all breeds. We occasionally offer group classes. We offer private training at our facility or your home. We have the most fun with our Retrievers, Spinoni, Terriers and other sporting breeds. We train daily and compete in AKC Field Trials and Hunt Tests as well as other AKC Performance sports. We have successfully competed in Master National and National events. We usually have puppies or trained dogs available for sale. We have a train the trainer program. Sometimes they resort to training though. We are not so sure about that but they dont do it for very long.

I want to Congratulate and Recognize Sharon Fix for entering her pup in our Junior Hunt Test at Nationals. For those that do not know, this was a first for both of them.

I think it takes a fair bit of bravery to just enter and walk up, not really understanding what you are doing. Perhaps fearful that you will look like you don't know what you are doing. ( We know that , it is the same for everyone, LoL )

Sharon and Trudi stepped up to the plate and did the morning test. They did not win a pass but they gained experience, a lot of experience in that 15 minute walk. Trudi's natural abilities kicked in at the time when she suddenly smelled a quail and she was excited to do it again.

They walked up to the line for the afternoon test a couple of hours later. Trudi was ready. She was a natural. She pointed her bird, held the point, Sharon did her job by firing her blank pistol, and the bird was flushed. They had just won their First Junior Hunter pass.

The adrenaline rush of watching your pup perform the job they were born to do is indescribable. You will never forget that first time and it may persuade you that you have room for one or two more pups. An experience like no other, pure joy that you and your pup share together. The smile on Trudi's face as she came back was shining brightly. She was ready to do this again. I hope they do.

Entering an AKC Junior Hunt test is easy to do, making up your mind to do it is a little tougher but highly rewarding. These dogs of ours know what they are doing. It has been bred into them for hundreds of years. If you enjoy a 15 minute walk in the park with your pup then you should take a 15 minute walk through a bird field with your pup in a hunt test. Take the Leap of Faith and Trust your pup. It could become addicting.

Congratulations to Sharon Fix and Trudi for you first Junior Pass.

and we encourage you to experience the same joy. Experience does not matter at the Junior level. It is all about having fun and learning. So go enter a hunt test! You will have numerous coaches to help you become successful.

Each and Every day Jamie and I get to hug many dogs who share their souls with us. Unequivocal Love they bestow upon us because we take the time to Love them back or Love them first in some cases They become the finely woven fabric of our hearts and souls. 20-40 times a day we get to do this depending on how many come in. They are us and we are them, an almost unimaginable joy shared for a moment, teaching us to live in the moment, all of us blessed with the knowledge from a momentary touch.
Jamie asked me this morning if I missed it.
I am in Texas with some dogs that have not seen me in a year, a look, a scent, and we are back to that hug again. Remembered through time spent in only a long ago moment of pure joy.
So yes, I miss my usual suspects. I miss their very predictable mischief. But i know their joy and I am happy to share it here in Texas with some other friends.

The Panhandle Terrapin Project is seeking volunteers to conduct beach surveys for diamondback terrapins along the Florida panhandle and the beaches of Baldwin County, Alabama.
