Established in 1979, we were the first animal advocacy group in Baldwin County. Our goal is to eliminate the number of abused and abandoned pets through spay/neuter, education, rescue and adoption. As a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, we rely entirely upon donations and do not receive any government funding. We rescue, rehabilitate, and find homes for hundreds of abused, abandoned and neglected pets annua

lly. The Baldwin Humane Society is dedicated to working with individuals in the public as well as other local organizations to provide programs like low cost spay/neuter vouchers, our adoption and foster program, public medical assistance, trap-neuter-return services for feral cats, and more!

We just realized it’s been a minute since we updated you guys on our Pookie girl! It’s been several weeks since her surgery to remove the mass on her tummy. Pookie had a few small setbacks with her incision healing up but she has finally gotten her staples removed and is almost at the finish line! Pookie’s very favorite thing to do is get tucked in at night in her bed and get extra cuddles from the staff. We love you Pookie!!!

Pretty wild what five days of TLC (and much needed vet care) can do! Teaspoon is one of our newest residents. She is around a year old and came in only weighing 3 pounds! 😱 Teaspoon arrived with so many things wrong with her tiny body that we were worried she’d even have the fortitude to make it though the week, but this gentle, affectionate little gal had other plans. Stay tuned for more updates on Teaspoon 🫖❤️

Fun Fact! Did you know that the Baldwin Humane Society receives no funding from the government or the United States Humane Society??? We are a completely private non profit which means our programs are funded by YOU! Our adoption program, medical programs, transport program, pet food pantry, staffing, etc are all funded from your donations, local grants and fundraisers. Good luck not falling in love with this little lady. Our new gal Kali is recovering like a champ after surgery to remove her back leg due do an injury. You would never know this affectionate, outgoing girl has had such a rough week. Shout out to everyone who helped with her rescue :) hopefully she’ll be ready for adoption soon ❤️🥹
