Vet Tech Appreciation Week is October 13-19, 2024!

A veterinary technician (defined by WVBVM) has gone through 2-4 years of schooling through a veterinary technology program at an AVMA accredited college, and have taken and passed the Veterinary Technology National Exam (VTNE).
Anyone else (in WV) claiming to be a veterinary technician and have not met these requirements are illegal claiming a title.
If they have not gone through an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program or passed the VTNE, they are titled as a veterinary technician assistant. 😊

This year, the week of October 13th to 19th is designated National Veterinary Technician Week (NVTW) to commemorate, acknowledge, and promote the important contributions that veterinary technicians make to the industry. Veterinary technicians are essential members of the veterinary medical team; they’re on the front lines with people and their beloved pets who need care, and communicate closely with pet owners to ensure smooth interactions for your business. The veterinary profession can be taxing, so it’s important to show gratitude to our teams.
