Thursday afternoon I had to say farewell to my beloved, beautiful Adian.
For 25 of her 29 years she has been by my side. She was perfect in every way. It is so difficult going to the barn and not hearing her soft, sweet nicker. My heart is beyond shattered. 💔

Daisy and Jimmy, brother and sister, have never been separated a day in their lives. Both were used as pack animals on the Pacific Crest Trail for four months: a total of 800 miles. Daisy went lame after two weeks, and continued to struggle. Dreamchaser received a call in early August of 2013 and drove to South Lake Tahoe to bring a very sick Daisy back to the ranch. Of course we took Jimmy too.

Daisy has fought so hard to conquer the laminitis and founder issues caused by that trip. She requires special medication but has a love for life, and she and Jimmy are always side by side. It was Jimmy’s love that kept her alive. To this day they still remain side by side.

What a wonderful experience! We had the privilege of being invited by and to a special event honoring local horse rescues.

The up close meeting with the team of Clydesdale was the highlight of the evening and an experience we will never forget.

We were able to connect with other rescues that struggle with the same issues we face. We are currently working together to help each other with skills and ideas that will benefit the horse we all love so much.

What a beautiful start to the week. Hope and Lyric are enjoying our cooler temperatures after eating their breakfast this morning.

Hope is completely blind in her left eye due to an injury that occurred in the round up. After being in the holding pens together, Hope and Lyric have formed a bond like no other.

Lyric will always stand on Hope's left side to ensure she protects her blind side.

Where is the best place to escape the heat?
In the barn, of course!
In this Missouri heat and humidity, we always keep the barn open so the animals have an escape from the intense sun. They have fresh cool water at all times and they even have a fan to help cool them.

We make it our life's goal to make sure all the animals in our care are happy, loved and provided the best care possible.

The #onaqui8 really enjoyed the nice cool summer rain shower.

And the second half are running free and enjoying every second of it. Denali, Mystique, Hope, Lyric(Winnie) and Honey.

So sorry for not posting much lately. Life happens to all of us at times. Leta is overjoyed to be with her brother Hedwig, Clover and Pollyanna. Pollyanna treats them all like her babies and it is so adorable. We are patiently waiting for titles to come in.

It may be cold and wet, but doesn't stop us from having some fun. It is such a beautiful sight to see these guys running around and playing. Lady can really get some air and she does it so gracefully. We are so glad to give them all a new lease on life, and we are grateful to all of our supporters for helping us make this possible.

Welcome to Molly's Manger...through all of our cold winter nights, Molly held on to her sweet little bundle of joy, knowing it was not safe for her baby to arrive yet. We are so excited to introduce this little boy! He is wobbly legged and searching where to nurse from. Horses, rescued horses are in the hearts of millions. They need our voices - all of them. As significant as days like Giving Tuesday and others are to rescues and sanctuaries- so is every day after. They continue to imprint on our hearts and fill our souls. They never ask for anything- over and over for centuries man has - taken into battle, pulled carriages, help our ancestors settle across the country, working on farms, and now given many of us the most beautiful therapeutic reason to give back. They are what deserves the accolades and for us to continue to step up and shout to the world that they don’t deserve to be thrown to kill pens like trash. . They are not mere animals. They represent the foundation this country and others were built on. Yet over and over again humans put them below the respect so deserved. Every year the sanctuaries and rescues of this country are working 24/7 to find to bring home to rescue the forgotten majestic horses. From the range, to kill pens, to neglect cases, to discarded horses used for science .. . The cost doesn’t end with the rescue - none of us have endless means in which we can do it alone. We are all so grateful to you for supporting and sharing our mission - we thank you - the horses if they could - humble creatures and you are helping to save them.
