Got a chance to take some pictures today. We have had a great trip. We have had magnificent dog work the last three days. Yesterday, we found three coveys and all four dogs got chances. Today, was the best day so far. We found 5 coveys, saw another covey cross the road in front of us and saw a road runner cross in front of us too. The highlight of the day was Walker killing his first rabbit ever. Tomorrow is our last day and we head back for good Ol’ Kentucky.

We hunted our first day out here in Oklahoma. We found two coveys this morning. Dee found one and Eiger found the other one. Got some great dog work on the coveys and singles. We ended with six in our vests. Sorry, we don’t have any pics of our birds. We hunted all day and did not get back until after dark. We did get a pic of this huge porcupine up in a tree.

On October 20th, we posted a video of our Big John English Setter puppy pointing a bird wing. Now in December at 4 1/2 months old, he is pointing planted quail in the field. This is a great feat for a puppy his age. He is a litter mate to our Bea and Lou puppies. I just have a feeling this litter is going to be special. I know his new owner is very proud and excited with his progress. I want to thank him for sharing. John’s other two sisters are looking for hunting partners as well.

Had a chance to work our two nice Brittany females ( Wesley and Kit), as well as, our very nice English Setter female Lou. All three were showing their stuff during some pointing drills. All three will make very nice hunting dogs. If you would like more information let us know.

Our Ned and Bell litter got out today to play on the farm. They are progressing nicely and are very friendly and bold. If you are a fan of Grouse Ridge breeding, these pups have the best. They will be great hunting partners.

We always like when fellow bird hunters share the progress of their puppy or dog they purchased from us. A nice gentleman did just that the other day. This is his 18 month old English Setter showing off his backing skills. This is sure a pretty picture. He is becoming a complete dog, pointing, backing and retrieving. Thanks a bunch for sharing.

We have also sold Bob Olinger and High Cotton today. High Cotton went to a nice gentleman in Alabama that is heading to Kansas next week and Bob is on his way to Illinois to hunt Bobwhite quail with his new hunting partner.

A longtime friend of mine bought a dog from us and took him on his first pheasant hunting trip to Iowa and he is doing fantastic. The young dog is a puppy from our Ned and Maggie May cross. Glad you are having fun out there my good friend.

Went c**n hunting with my grandson’s for the first time in 6 years. We bought Blaze a year ago and this was her first wild c**n hunt. She hunted pretty good and fell treed but she fell a little short but was a good first night. It was great to spend some time in the woods with my best buddies.

Tanner and I had a chance to work with our setter puppies on pointing today. I will post Bea and Big John separately. This post is Bea working. Bird wing.

Our English Setter puppies are growing like weeds and doing want they like best. These puppies are also ready for new homes.

Our Brittany puppies were enjoying their lunch today. They are for sale and ready for a new home.

We got some good footage of Big Fess workout this evening. He is a nephew of Yukon Cornelius and also has Erin’s Hidden Shamrock as well as Hytest Skyhawk in his pedigree. He is really holding his point very well for not yet being whoa broke.

Here is a short video of Tanner handling his Doc Holiday dog. It is very important when working with your dogs that you handle them as much as possible to build trust with your hunting partner.

On this cool morning, Eiger Sanction had a chance to get in some bird work. Since we are getting closer to our Wisconsin trip she will be getting out more on the cooler days.
