Sickels Rabbitry will be attending Californian Nationals in Decatur IL this year!
We will have a few full siblings of Lightning Mcqueen available.
They were weaned last week but are already showing potential!

We will have 4-5 litters born for our County Fair meatpens/fryers.
We are breeding April 9th.
3-4 litters will be New Zealand sired by F5 "Bocifus".
Another Californian cross litter sired by SECRETLYWITHOUTAQUEEN"Barry".

First Californian doe got her tattoo yesterday!
With 2 other litters and another bred doe, our program is doing well!
We are so excited to have this SECRETLYWITHOUTAQUEEN doe that we can start showing hopefully later this spring.
There was a little miscommunication on what her tattoo should be, so she's now Lighting McQueen🫠

The past few days, we have been on fire 🔥🔥🔥!
On Friday, we went to Richmond with a pair of New Zealands:
Alibi Jr Blue Doe
Bandito Jr Broken Buck
Bandito got BOB while Alibi got BOS and went on to get honorable mention for BIS.
Today, we went up to New Praire, Indiana, for their 1st Annual FFA Meat Rabbit Show!
Ended up with:
Champion Roaster-Bandito
Champion Stewer-Alibi
Overall Meat Rabbit-Alibi
Placed by Allison Horvath.
Congrats to all who won, and it should be even better next year!

I always like keeping lines going and seeing how they developed through generations.
Pictured is Bandito, a Jr. buck sired by Buddy. Pictured along side of Bandito is Mirror, his Grandsire.
Mirror from D&D Rabbitry is one of their old faithfuls, and I was lucky enough to trade for him.
Bandito has a few 1st in classes, a BOV, and a BOSV. If he keeps developing well, he should have a strong show career and will most likely be used.
Bandito goes back to Bill Redwine, B&B Bunny Ranch, Hills, Sleepy Creek, and D&D Rabbitry lines.

We'll have three does dropping in the next week, including this Blue Doe sired by Hills F5(Bocifus)!
She's bred to Mirror for her first time!

We attended the Central States Nomad Show in Springfield Ohio Saturday and it was a blast!
Youth Show B:

BOV Broken with NZB2
BOSV Broken with IGWT
3rd SR White Buck with 105
2nd 6/8 Californian Buck with Queen

BOV Broken with Bandito
BOSV Broken with IGWT
We only ended up taking 6 down, and I only highlighted our more notable placings!
Overall, it was a well ran show, and we are happy with our results!

I'm excited for these upcoming litters!
Starting up the white breedings again with NZB7xMac!
Also, I have two of my favorite colored brood does paired with a homegrown buck!
Should be due tomorrow.

Very proud of our homegrown BD2, she was able to pull off BOSV for the otter satins at ARBA as a junior! She is out of a House of Hares Buck and a Bart Lillie/Geske Doe.

Got some does bred today and a litter from Buddy over a homegrown doe Kaylee that should be dropping in a few days!
We started using a little homegrown Broken Blue Buck today, and he knew his job well!

Had a wonderful weekend at the Rabbit Renegades show in Richmond, IN. Took home BOB with Satins in show B, C, and D.Even a BOS in Show D.
New Zealands had BOV in show B, C, and D with Blue and Broken. We even got a BOSV White and BOS in show D.

08/10/2024

Just finished exhibiting our rabbits at the largest 4h rabbit show in the nation. Our satins all did very well! The worst we did was a no place and our best was two BOV. Both were homegrowns. 6/8 Buck(Bushwacker) got 2nd in class. 6/8 doe(Wafer) got BOV for chocolate. Jr. Blue Buck(STN9) got BOV for Blue. Sr. Otter Doe(Deliah) placed 1st in class. Our little fryer out of Bushwacker/Deliah was a no place but great comments from judge. And last but no least. Bubs(Sr. Chocolate Mini Satin) placed 2nd in class.

All setup on Day 2 of the Indiana State Fair Rabbit Show!
Getting the 6/8s out for cleaning and brushing for the show tomorrow.
White Doe got Best in Barn and the Broken Black Buck got Reserve Best of Breed at the County Fair so hopefully we can compete!

We are selling out of most of our Satins and switching to mainly New Zealands.
Everything is from Bart Lillie or House of Hares.
Details are under each photo.
Located close to Wi******er Indiana.

Everything comes pedigreed and we will be able to transport them to State Fair/some rabbits will be shown at the Indiana State Fair so pickup the 11st at the State Fair or 12th at our Rabbitry.

Employee of the Month for the month of July goes to NZB2 a.k.a. Buddy.
Buddy is one of our New Zealand Herd Bucks, he has a great temperment, has phenomal litters and has been used in a few different rabbiteries, however only on a handful of does.
We will be using him alot more this fall, so instead of extra feed as his reward he will be receiving more girlfriends!
