Our little homestead was supposed to take a brake this summer from breeding and raising babies. But things kicked off about a month ago and things are in high demand. So there will be no down time for us. Blessing come when ypu least expect them.

Full-on misery she should pop any day now

We started our rabbit journey one year ago this month. We had a few bumps along the way. We lost some during the summer in the summer heat, 1 to wry neck and 1 to miscarriage. We did have a couple small litters that made it and were able to put in the freezer. But since Nov 3rd we have been blessed. 5 out of 6 does have kindled with a grand total of 44 baby's between them and another mom due any day now. We are super proud of our does.

Making broth and bone broth out of the left over carcasses from our turkeys. Last picture is 2 of 4 cookers I have going.

After all the processing was completed from our 3 Tom turkeys, we ended up with 55lbs of turkey meat in the freezer. Total weight was 115 lbs. There will also be lots of broth and bone broth from all the carcasses. Not to shabby for our first time raising turkeys. Plus the little piglets got a lot of fresh protein from the scraps.
22lbs deboned breast
6lbs tenderloins
8lbs turkey legs
14lbs of ground turkey from thighs and what was left on carcasses.

Tommy and I found a solution to keep the goats put of the chicken feed. Works like a charm! So glad someone posted it in another group I follow.

Our 3 Tom Turkeys dressed out at 25.5 lbs, 28.5 lbs and 29 lbs. Not to bad for our first turkey raising..

This is the look of pure disgust, her asking me are you happy now look? She has not wanted to breed this last month. I tried everything even took her for a ride on Saturday, because I was told that would work. Well if it did it took 2 extra days to kick in. But she is now bred! Toby looking like he needed a Marlboro after each fall off, laying in the bottom of the cage eyes rolled back in his head in pure delight. Me over there doing the happy dance saying I won! Yep that happened!
