- Check your fences & gates and repair if necessary.
- Speak with your vet now about calming medications.
- Make sure that your dog is microchipped and has an ID tag.
- Identify a safe space for your dog now to stay during the festivities.

In memory of William & Molly G.

2023

William the goat and Molly the pig were best buddies. William was naughty and loved to eat Molly's food, so I always had to keep them separate during feeding time. They shared a paddock and liked to sunbathe in the Summer and snuggle up in their shared barn in the Winter. Thankfully they are now together forever.

RIP sweet buddies ❤

Sweet, sweet Cookie, another senior who was close to my heart.
Cookie was such a good girl. She always stayed by my side when I took her out for a potty break. She would have a wander down to see the horses and then a little walk around the house. Cookie would wait patiently for her treat with the rest of the gang. Cookie will be greatly missed by her family and fur siblings.

Sebastian (Bash), was an incredible boy. He really was my heart dog. Seniors just touch my heart and boy did Bash have my heart.

Bash was such a sweet and loving boy and he always had a special smile for Auntie Toni. I wish I had known Bash for longer and I know his Mum & Dad are absolutely devastated by his loss. Bash was such a trooper to the end, despite his various medical issues.

November is Adopt a Senior Pet & National Senior Pet month
Senior's are my heart and it's especially heartbreaking to see elderly pets surrendered to shelters.
Reasons to adopt a senior pet:
1. You are saving a life
2. They are usually already housebroken & trained
3. They'll never grow bigger
4. They are more chill than younger pets (think Netflix and chill!)
5. They need less supervision and are less destructive
6. Their adoptions fees are normally less or waived
7. They are super loving and grateful to be adopted

You can find the love of your life at your local animal shelter or rescue. ❤🐾

November 7th is Canine Lymphoma Awareness Day.

Canine Lymphoma accounts for 10-20% of all canine cancers and there are over 30 types of Lymphoma. Certain breeds are predisposed to Lymphoma, including: Boxers, Bulldogs, Golden's and Rottie's, amongst others.
My beautiful Giorgi (a Boxer mix) lost her battle with Lymphoma in 2021 and today I want to honor her by raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of Canine Lymphoma. Further information can be found here:

To close out Pitbull awareness month, here is my own Pitbull baby, Charlie Bear (CB). 🐾❤ CB loves to go for walks, play ball, snuggle and sing (yes he does).
Pitbull's are such amazing dogs. There are so many Pitbull's and other dogs in shelters at the moment, desperate for a family to love. Please and visit your local shelter or contact a rescue such as Pitties and Purrs Rescue, Inc where Charlie Bear came from.

October 28th is National Pitbull Awareness Day (NPAD), but why not celebrate Pitties all month long?! NPAD is dedicated to the caretakers of Pitties and to educate people about these fantastic pups.

Annie is a very fun and mischievous South African Boer goat. Annie likes to eat... and eat and then jump on things. When Miss Toni visits it means that she is going to get fed, hence the smile!

It's Getting Hot Out!
Please be considerate of your furry friend. Hot surfaces can start to burn paws within 60 seconds! Always test the surface for at least 5 seconds. If it's too hot for you then it's too hot for your dog's paws.
At Sophie’s Friends’ Petsitting we always check the asphalt and the air temp before walking. During the hottest months we adjust our schedule to avoid the warmest part of the day and if it's too hot we will take a short potty break and then return indoors for water and play/cuddle time.
