Today was a very sad afternoon. I just met this sweet boy, Smokey on Sunday when his dad hired me to feed him at noon everyday as he's been losing a lot of weight over the last couple of months. 2 different vet visits and still no answers as to why. Within 2 minutes time Dr Jim from Jimbabwe Acres had the answer and told his dad he was getting a free x-ray to confirm what he suspected was the cause. Unfortunately Smokey had a tumor and his dad selflessly decided to end his suffering and Smokey peacefully crossed over the rainbow bridge and is now at peace. Smokey was a very sweet boy. As hard as it was for him to walk from being so weak, I'm now guessing, he would still greet me at the door when I arrived and after getting him to eat as much as I possibly could and giving him lots of love, I would lay him back in his bed only for him to climb out and follow me to the door. Rest in peace little friend. It was an absolute honor getting to meet and love on you, for even just a short time.
Dr Jim and his staff are absolutely amazing!! The best of the best!!

This is true. So many people are trying to rehome their cats and dogs. You made a commitment to them- they are not disposable.

I will never understand why when you are walking a dog or even just walking for that matter with or without a dog, that people driving in cars won't move over. I understand if there's traffic coming head on or it's a non passing zone preventing you from seeing if on coming traffic is approaching, but if it's clear, why can't or won't they move over?!?!?!
