Our Intro to Rats class, taught by Christy, is a beginner-friendly introduction to rat sports where dogs learn to use their nose, hunt, and problem-solve in a safe, controlled environment.

🎄 Trickmas Day 12: Sit Pretty 🎄
And just like that… we made it to Day 12! 🥹✨
Today’s trick is Sit Pretty—a great core-strength builder and confidence booster.

How to teach it:
Start in a solid sit. Slowly lift the treat straight up and slightly back toward your dog’s nose. The moment they lift their front paws (even just a second!), mark and reward. Build duration gradually and always support balance—this trick should never be forced.

👏 Remember: short reps, lots of praise, and check in to make sure your dog is comfortable!

💬 Drop a video in the comments of your dog’s Sit Pretty (or their best attempt!).

🎄 Trickmas Day 11: Bow 🎄
A polite way to say “ta-da!” ✨

To teach Bow:
• Start with your dog in a stand
• Lure a treat down between their front paws while keeping the hips up
• Mark and reward when elbows hit the floor but the back end stays up

💡 Tip: If your dog keeps laying down, practice from a stand and reward fast before they drop.
