Are you looking for an easy treat to make for your dogs that is healthier and less expensive than what you buy in the store?

Baking “cookies” made from the following ingredients is super easy, quick, and costs way less than buying an 8-12oz pack in the store.
We purchased silicone molds online.
*never use anything with xylitol or artificial sweeteners for your dog*

The basic recipe is:

1 c almond flour, 1/2 c oats (we use quick oats) 1/3-1/2 c Natural peanut butter (stirred well) 1 mashed banana, 1 large sweet potato cooked and mashed or 1/2 c pumpkin purée.
1 egg.
1 tsp mint, 2 tsp ginger, 2 tsp parsley, 2 tsp turmeric as desired. You can omit peanut butter and add 1c flaked salmon. (Or drain all juices from canned salmon and use but it’s full of salt so only use this infrequently)
Mix ingredients well. If dough is too runny add more oats or flour. It should be just thick enough to pick up on a spoon and form into a sticky ball.
Use a spoon or butter knife to fill molds (spray with cooking oil first ) if you don’t have molds you can make small “drop cookies” by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper and dropping small balls of dough spaced evenly. Press down on the balls with the back of a spoon to flatten slightly. Bake at 325 for 10 minutes or in the air fryer for 8 minutes.
We cooled cookies on a wire rack and I added 1/2 back in the air fryer for 4 additional minutes to get crunchier.
If you have a senior dog, then baking in molds for 8 minutes in the air fryer is perfect.

This sweet little guy is the last pup from our litter born on 10/28. All other pups have found their furever homes. He will be ready to leave on 12/23.
