My name is Brendan Foard and I am a First Sergeant with the Maryland Transportation Authority Police. I have been serving the citizens of the State of Maryland since 2005 and I am currently the Assistant Commander of the Bay Bridge Detachment.

A friend and I are both trying to become Super Plungers in the 2024 Special Olympics Super Plunge. Essentially, we would like to do the Polar Plunge but we are taking it a step further. To become Super Plungers, it requires us to do two things: we must both raise a minimum of $10,000 for Special Olympics Maryland and we will plunge into the Chesapeake Bay 24 times in 24 hours. The Super Plunge event will take place on January 26-27th, 2024. I participated in this event last year and was able to raise a total of $11,670 for Special Olympics Maryland. The Special Olympics Polar Plunge raises money that supports the 4,340 athletes in Special Olympics Maryland. Special Olympics have been chosen as one of the most trusted Non-Profit brands in the country. I met a ton of amazing people and athletes last year when I plunged for 24 hours straight.

My friend’s name is Paul Dziewanowski and he just registered recently to join me. I hit my fundraising goal today, so I have already raised $10,000 but he has a long way to go. Paul and I both coach our daughters’ soccer team, the 2012 Baltimore Bays Crush Premier team. Last year during my Super Plunge, there was a “Friends and Family” Plunge where I invited our team to join me in the plunge. I attached a photo and the video of that plunge. Paul actually joined in last year and did the plunge with the girls and me. In the photo, he is the one in the hat with the big tie and I am right next to him in the blue shirt. Paul enjoyed his experience so much that he told me that he was going to Super Plunge with me the next year. I had a bunch of people say that they would do the super plunge with me but none actually signed up besides Paul.

If you would be able to support us, it would be greatly appreciated. There are potential benefits for different levels of sponsorship if you donate certain amounts.
