We still hope this will be Muppet’s story! There was a homeless gentleman seen in the area when Muppet went missing and we will always have hope that gentleman picked him up and we will someday be reunited due to his microchip. Please encourage vet offices to always scan new clients for microchips and if you see someone with a dog that doesn’t seem to fit the situation please say something or do something.

HOME AT LAST AFTER 3 YEARS!!
Nini the Maltese missing from is home safe and sound! Missing 10/1/2020 Reunited 10/11/2023.

Nini’s happy Mom shares an incredible story: “I got a notification from AKC Reunite that her microchip was scanned by a VCA Clinic in Western Springs. A woman had taken her in after a homeless man had her for god knows how long.” She thanks the VCA Boone Animal Hospital in Western Springs for scanning her chip and sending her the message. She also is grateful to Kim P who took in Nini from the homeless man and shaved and bathed her. After watching Nini for about a week Kim P took her to the vet hospital and the rest is history! Nini’s Mom is overjoyed at this incredible reunion.

These kind of stories are proof that you should never give up hope!
Welcome home Nini!

Another happy microchip reunion after TWELVE (12) years!

Muppet’s owners are still hoping they will get to share a happy microchip reunion story for Muppet one day.

Please….if you see a stray dog don’t assume it lives where you see it - take a picture, make a post, call animal control, do something! That small action could be what it takes to get someone’s lost pet home.

‼️ MICROCHIP YOUR PETS ‼️

‼️Don’t assume a lost dog found in poor condition was dumped! Get it checked for a microchip and SEARCH FOR THE OWNER‼️

A reunion of a lifetime ❤️

Our Field Officer picked up a senior dog who appeared a little shy and kind of sad, he never wagged his tail. Sure enough, our officer was able to find a microchip and called the number on file. She learned this little pooch's name is Minion and he had been missing for 12 years!! Minion's owner couldn't believe it--he said the maintenance man left the back gate open back in 2011, and they never saw Minion again.

Here's where the story gets even more heartwarming. Our Field Officer drove 15-year-old Minion back to his home--she explained to his owner before opening the kennel that Minion is old now and is not really a fast mover. However, once she opened up the kennel, Minion saw his family and instantly started wagging his tail and was clearly excited to be reunited with his family! 😍They brought Minion inside and he was nearly running around with his tail wagging around the other dogs--he was home at last. 🥰

We're so glad Minion is back home! Check out the awesome before and after photo 👀
This reunion wouldn't have been possible without a microchip! Make sure your pets are chipped and keep your contact information up to date: https://www.maricopa.gov/215/Rabies-Vaccinations-and-Microchipping

This is why you never give up hope of finding your lost dog and why you NEVER assume a found dog was dumped or abandoned based on its condition. Please look at the story and the pic of what this dog looked like when found!!

This is also a very good reason for microchips - they work! Please get your pets microchipped and keep your contact info up to date! Most shelters offer low cost microchipping, or any vet office.

❤️ Please share Muppet’s post in the comments to help get him home ❤️

➡️➡️. Please share & help us find our beloved Muppet ⬅️⬅️

❇️ Muppet is our ten (10) year old rescue poodle mix that was lost on 12/1/21 while visiting Flagler Beach, FL. We were staying at a vacation home with family in the 2600 block of North Ocean Shore Blvd. aka A1A. Muppet was outside on a supervised potty break at approximately 1030pm before bed when he wandered around to the front of the house. I followed him and called out to him but he disappeared in to the night. We immediately searched everywhere for him, but could not locate him. This behavior was very unlike him. There were no tires screeching or yelps for help, just silence and Muppet was gone and we have not had any sightings of him. ❇️

Muppet is a very friendly dog and will go up to anybody. While searching for Muppet immediately after he was lost we noticed a small light colored SUV on the side of the road and a homeless person walking near the vehicle. We asked the person if they had seen Muppet and they claimed they had not and they identified the small SUV as their vehicle. We didn’t think much of it, until an exhaustive search was completed and we couldn’t find Muppet. We looked EVERYWHERE. We left out scent items and food for him, we hung many signs and passed out hundreds of fliers, we visited all of the neighboring homes, we constantly checked (and still check!) the local animal shelters, and we even had a local radio station make lost announcements for him. Muppet had vanished!

We feel like somebody picked up Muppet and chose not to return our sweet little loving boy. That breaks our heart. He is an emotional support dog and very missed. Muppet was wearing a collar with identification tags and he is microchipped. Maybe it was the homeless person we saw or maybe it was somebody else that was out walking.

But just as Muppet slipped away from us, he could just as easily slip away from someone else if he was picked up and not returned to us.

Please be attentive to anyone you see with a dog that looks like Muppet, whether it’s a homeless person or a new neighbor down the street. Please try to take a photo and get it to us, along with info as to who had the dog. It just takes ONE person seeing something and acting on that to get our sweet boy home.

Share this all over the US and Canada as Flagler Beach is a popular tourist destination during the winter months. Please also share his story with any poodle rescues or homeless advocates in your area!

There is at least one person out there that knows what happened to Muppet - please help us find that person!!

Please also keep an eye out for him in the area he was lost in case he wanders back there looking for us - North Ocean Shore Blvd. aka A1A near Shelter Cove Drive in Flagler Beach, FL.

➡️➡️➡️❇️ Muppet is microchipped ❇️⬅️⬅️⬅️

🔴 if you ever find a lost pet that is not wearing a collar with identification tags, please get it checked for a microchip (free at your local shelter or any vets office) and require proof of ownership from anyone claiming the pet! Please make sure whoever scans the pet is using a universal microchip scanner! If a chip is not found on the initial scan, please take the pet to a second location for another scan just to make sure!

🔴 if you work at a vet’s office, please always scan new clients for a microchip! Lost pets are frequently rehomed without ever being checked for a microchip and the new owner may have no idea their new “rescue” has a heartbroken owner searching for the pet in their possession.

🔴 if you are a rescue organization and take in an unclaimed lost/stray pet from a shelter or owner surrender, please always check for a microchip and verify the owner information. The “owner” that surrendered the pet may have found it years ago and never had it scanned for a chip!

🟡 if your pet is not microchipped- DO IT! 🟡 Many local animal shelters offer microchipping for under $25. Your vet office can also microchip your pet. It takes less than a minute. It is also a good idea to have your pets microchip scanned during its annual exam to make sure it is still functioning properly and that it hasn’t migrated to an odd part of its body where it could be missed during a scan. This is not common but it does happen, especially if the pet has had some sort of trauma (hit by car, etc). Lastly, make sure you have registered your owner info with the microchip company and keep your contact info up to date!!

🔷🔷🔷 THANK YOU 🔷🔷🔷

PS - we have absolutely nothing against homeless persons and help them when we can. We are just describing what we saw and the circumstances around Muppet’s disappearance. We are NOT accusing anyone, we are just trying to follow all leads to find our boy!

We are still searching for Muppet and love to hear happy reunion stories like this. Please share his latest post that is “pinned” to the top of his page.

Please microchip your pets!! A lot of shelters and humane societies offer microchipping for under $25. Vet offices also microchip.

⛔️ Once microchipped -make sure it is registered and your contact info is up to date!! ⛔️

Muppet has a chip with up to date contact info. If you follow lost and found pet posts in your area please always remind finders of lost pets to have them checked for a microchip, and if one isn’t found in the first scan, have it checked at a second location. Equipment malfunctions and operator error do occur!

Home at last, after 2 LONG YEARS! Bruno, Yorkie from Chicago has made it back to his family from MINNESOTA! After searching for months and months and putting his info up on many pages, they received a call from the chip company that he had been scanned in Minnesota. The lady who had him said someone in Chicago had sold him to her 2 years previously in Chicago. Relatives provided the proof and picked him up. Bruno was VERY happy to see his family upon reunion. Message from owners: "Those who haven't found their pet yet, don't lose hope. Miracles do exist!" Missing 5/24/20, Reunited 5/28/22. Welcome home, Bruno!!!

What an awesome reunion five (5) years after she was stolen from her owner. Stories like this is why we won’t ever give up looking for our Muppet.

Please continue to share his story and keep an eye on found dogs that look like him.

Thank you ❤️

Over 5 years ago, Ginger was stolen from her owner, Barney. Ginger's family tried everything they could to get her back. They continuously searched for her and every time they saw a dog that resembled her in the slightest, it would ignite a spark of hope that maybe it was her. Throughout the years, they proceeded to adopt new dogs and even welcomed another child into their home, but they never forgot about Ginger.

Recently, the Beloit Police Department posted on Facebook about a stray female dog, in hopes of reuniting her with her owner. She was eventually brought to HSSW, where we could search as well. After a few days, we received a call from Barney, thinking it was Ginger! When he arrived, staff led Barney to the back of the shelter to make sure it was her. As soon as they saw each other, there was no doubt. The excitement on the family’s faces, as well as Ginger's, when they were finally reunited was beyond memorable. Ginger is back with her true family and now has the opportunity to meet her new "pack" members and make up for lost time!

⛔️ Today is Lost Dog Awareness Day ⛔️

Please always “think lost and not stray” when you see a dog in ANY condition on the side of the road (or wherever).

Far too often people assume that a dog has been dumped based on its condition. Yes, sadly dogs are dumped, but not always by the loving owner. Dogs are stolen and dumped and dogs are also lost for extended periods which causes them to be in poor condition.

‼️ PLEASE get your pets microchipped as they can’t tell their story when found. Collars and tags are obviously also quite helpful ‼️

Another reminder - if you find a pet and have it scanned and no chip is found, please take it to a second location for another scan. Many chips have been missed due to human error, improper equipment (not a universal scanner), and equipment malfunctions.

This story out of North Carolina brings up three very important points relative to Muppet’s story:

1) ‼️ Microchip your pets ‼️
2) Never give up hope!
3) Share posts outside of lost area!

This dog slipped its leash in Alabama and disappeared with no sightings. Weeks later it was brought in as a stray to a North Carolina shelter over 500 miles away. The dog obviously didn’t walk itself there so somebody picked it up in Alabama and didn’t get him back to his owner. But the dog slipped away from its “captors” and ended up at a shelter where they checked for a microchip. Without a microchip this dog likely would not have made it back home.

Muppet IS microchipped and there have been no sightings of him so there is a strong possibility that he was picked up by someone who decided to keep him. He could still be close to Flagler Beach or he could have been transported out of state and kept by the finder or sold to a person who had no idea Muppet has heartbroken owners searching for him.

❤️ Please share his post that is pinned at the top of his page. All it takes is one person seeing his photo and recognizing him to change his lost story to a happy reunion. ❤️
