Red Cat Studio

Red Cat Studio Come close...
I want to draw you into an intimate place of wonder, dreams and magic. I am an illustrator. I tell stories.

Moving to Western North Carolina from Philadelphia, PA gave me the freedom to get back to my creative self after 35 years in graphic design, the last 24 as a corporate art director. My illustrations are created in a variety of ways. Sometimes I do a sketch, then scan it into my iMac computer, refine and color it using Adobe Illustrator software. My computer is just another drawing tool for me to

explore with. Other times I love taking out the my acrylic paints or colored inks and getting my hands dirty. Both ways are fun for me and create different styles. I now live on the South Shore of Massachusetts. See anything you like, please contact me! You can also find my prints & greeting cards at The Galley at Flat Rock in Flat Rock, NC.

Red Cat Studio: Hand Drawn, Digital Painting

“I like to play ... My drawings have a playful, child-like twist. Inspiration comes from nature, bold graphics, tribal and abstract art. I create fantastical worlds with a collage of my pencil sketches. I trace over the sketches with a Micron pen. The new ink drawings are then scanned into my iMac computer. I “mix” individual color palettes for each artwork and finish by digitally painting. I then have giclées printed with archival inks on high quality paper. This allows me to create a style that is uniquely different. Each piece is a story for you to finish.”

Originally from Philadelphia, PA. I moved to Western North Carolina in 2013. Art became part of my life as a child, having a father who was a children’s book illustrator. After graduating from The University of The Arts, in Philadelphia, with a major in Illustration, I worked in the graphic design field for 37 years, the last 24 as a corporate art director. Moving here gave me the freedom to get back to my artistic roots.
