Just wanted to say thank you to all our customers who helped us have a great 3rd year in business! Our hobby farm grew not only in size and variety of flowers, but we gained a lot of new customers this year. We truly appreciate your support, and all of our returning customers for continuing to trust us to help with your event and special life celebrations. This business started from my love of growing flowers for the past 15 years, becoming a Master Gardener, and deciding to sell flowers just as a side hobby, since I work full time as a librarian. My husband also works in the floral industry as a wholesaler for flower shops. His knowledge from that side of the industry has helped me tremendously, and together we make a dream team! I am already planning and ordering seed for next year’s flowers. We are expanding and making more plots to grow even more variety. We look forward to next year’s season, and wish you all happy holidays in the coming months!

I decided to start posting a plant of the week to introduce you to some of the things I grow. This weeks plant is anise hyssop. It belongs to the mint family and smells like licorice. Medicinally it has anti-bacterial, and anti-microbial properties that could help with coughs, stomach upset, and skin inflammation. It also adds a nice touch to a bouquet, as it’s unique looking and sweet smelling.

Bouquets this week will feature some of these beautiful and brightly colored phlox. Zinnias are also starting to make an appearance and will be available very soon. Flowers are back to order! If you’re looking for flowers to brighten your table this holiday weekend, message me. $20 for a large bouquet. I love the variety of colors in yarrow, rudbeckia, echinacea, and purple blazing star. I have such a wide variety of flowers currently in bloom, with many more to come. Looking forward to creating a whimsical bouquet for you.

Bugs, ground hogs, and the wind sure haven’t made my job easy! 😩 Growing cut flowers to sell is a tough business, but these issues are something I deal with every year. This is why I over plant and succession plant. No worries, as there are plenty of flowers growing. Starting mid-July I will have a flower stand on select weekends. Until then, contact me for your flower needs! However, due to the heat this week, I am taking a pause from selling as the heat stresses the flowers and creates a shorter life span.
