We have a pet adoption sponsored by Pedigree from 10 am - 3 pm with forever home hopefuls from the Colbert County Shelter giving free kisses. Friday evening Mark Naramore and Billy Lawson will be featured in a Swamperversary Songwriter Showcase, then the Pollies take to the stage followed by headliners, "Hippies & Cowboys! Only $55 as we celebrate our 55th anniversary at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Whole Hog Express will have their food truck on site. Written by Spooner Oldham and Dan Penn, “I'm Your Puppet,” reached number 6 on the RnB charts in 1967. Roger Hawkins and Jimmy Johnson of the Swampers manned the drums and guitar, but future Swamper David Hood was not on bass for this hit, David played trombone. Dan Penn says the song came out of nowhere. "We ate dinner at this barbecue place across from Fame studio and then went back. I broke out this cheap 12–string, cooked up the rhythm, Spooner got behind the piano and the magic happened."

A great place to go for a Saturday drive!

In 2007, Rhode Islanders Michael and Kathy Dumont rescued this architectural piece of history on Main St in Linden, TN from the wrecking ball. Art deco details were salvaged, the narrow-planked oak flooring was restored and the quaint hotel was brought back to life to be named one of six great places to stay in Tennessee.

They also opened the Commodore Music Cafe in the hotel, a casual and artsy eatery often using fresh, local ingredients, including eggs from their very own restored 1800s farm! Their Friday night music events have included platinum record holders and No. 1 hit songwriters, making the Commodore Hotel & Music Cafe a great place to hear amazing live music. Come and stay awhile in our Big Back Yard!

Phases and Stages is the seventeenth studio album by Willie Nelson, which followed the moderate success of his first Atlantic Records release, Shotgun Willie. Nelson met producer Jerry Wexler at a party where Nelson sang songs from an unreleased album he had recorded in 1972. The single "Phases and Stages" was originally recorded the same year. Nelson re-recorded the album at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in two days and Wexler produced it.
