Nina is a sweet and affectionate girl who has been a wonderful part of our foster family. She adores her humans, plays well with our dogs and foster puppies, and is always curious about the cat. While she’s a bit wary of strangers and bigger dogs, once she warms up to you, she’s fiercely loyal and full of love.
Energetic and playful, Nina would thrive in a home with a big yard or an active family that enjoys walks. She’s strong and food-motivated (which makes training easier!), but she’ll need some patience as she adjusts to a new routine.

ARF would like to introduce Nina. She is 11months old and gave birth to 9 puppies in November. She did a great job taking care of her puppies even though she was living outside with no shelter. A neighbor was trying to provide food for her but sent out a plea for help when the January freeze was announced.
7 puppies were rescued right before the freeze on January 8 but Nina and w of her puppies disappeared. Everyone was worried and the neighbors were.keeping a look out. She must have found a place to hunker down because once the weather passed she appeared again with her 2 lone babies. One neighbor scooped the 3 dogs up and contacted ARF to pick them up. We were all relieved to have the entire family safe.
3 pups have been adopted and the others are ready. All puppies are healthy, happy and sweet. Nina, unfortunately has heartworms and has to go through treatment before she can go up for adoption. She will be spayed this next week and then get her first heartworm treatment injection in April. For now, she is learning manners, inside dog behavior and trying to crate train. These things are tough when you have lived your entire life as a free roaming dog! She is super sweet and friendly with the other dogs in her foster home.
