HAPPY NATIONAL DOG DAY! 🐾
Here at ARFF we celebrate dogs and cats everyday!
We have now saved close to 7000 animals in 4 years!
Help us keep celebrating and saving lives! 🎉🩷

We currently owe over $2200 in vet bills and we have several dogs and cats who will need to go to the vet this week who are getting a second chance! We have so many medical cases we have taken on, cases that no one else would consider! ARFF also needs to purchase 5 bags of puppy food this week and this past weekend alone- we have received several requests to assist with over 40 local animals. Our fosters are full and we know how much the unwanted animal community relies on us! We cannot continue without assistance with medical bills and supplies. 🙏🏻

Every veterinary clinic is urging people to bring their pets inside! 🐾❤️🙏🏻 Please do not risk the life of your pet!

Many pets all over the south have already died this year from heat strokes! 💔 If you choose to not bring your pet inside during dangerous and inclement weather (extreme heat or cold) - you shouldn’t and do not deserve to own a pet!

Just a reminder that it is TOO HOT for your dogs to be left outside! Even in a shaded area or doghouse, your pet could still be at risk!

Here are some signs to look out for if your dog is overheated. Lastly, heat strokes can be fatal. Do not take risks. Bring your pets inside.

We have not been able to raise any money to supply our local animal shelter with two new metal bins (one for trash and one for food storage). Let’s try $6 Saturday! 🐾❤️ We need to raise $90 to replace the ones currently at the Floydada Animal Shelter. They are rusting and in really bad shape!

The current ones we have are over 5 yrs old, they are starting to deteriorate and get rust.

Heat stroke is a real danger in our area, especially during this summer heat wave! If your dog is experiencing signs of heat stroke, immediately get them indoors, apply COOL (NOT ICE) water to their paw pads, AND transport to a veterinarian ASAP!

URGENT MEDICAL DONATIONS NEEDED‼️🐾💔
$300 raised

Update- Unfortunately 4 puppies have passed away. We are praying the remaining 3 puppies are on the mend and will continue to improve. 🙏🏻🐾 We also had another puppy in a different home that was found later -she never got sick.

We took in this unwanted litter almost two weeks ago and today they have started to break with the dreaded parvovirus. We are devastated but we are not giving up!! We need your help to save them! It costs $813.12 just to get them started on at home treatment, they will be receiving fluids and several medications/antibiotics, unfortunately it would cost over $8000 to hospital them all.

We have been so very busy but we wanted to give a wonderful update on our local spay and neuter program! 🎉

We have successfully spayed/neutered 57 owned pets in and around Floydada! We want to give a big thank you to the Floydada EDC, Lisa Mendelsberg with (C.A.R.E) Colorado Animal Rescue Express and Raining Dogs Rescue for helping us to cover the several surgeries along with vaccines for these owned pets!🐾🙏🏻

Below you will see just a few of the pets who have been altered over the last few weeks! ❤️ We hope to make a large collage at the end of the year with all of the pets who have been vetted through our program!

Update #2-Unfortunately Prissy’s pre surgery blood work this morning showed that her platelet count was dangerously low, she is suffering from Anaplasmosis tick disease. She will be on several medications for 3-4 weeks before she can have her surgery! 💔🐾😞 Keep her in your thoughts, we are hopeful that she will heal and be ready for surgery and her new life in a few weeks! 🐾 But we should have her surgery covered! 🐾 Prissy is set to have her surgery this morning! We are about $300 short from having the surgery covered! 🐾🙏🏻❤️ Update— We have a donor willing to match up to $600! 🎉 This means that we need to raise $600 to ensure Prissy can have her surgery! It’s $5 Friday- do we have 120 followers who can donate $5? 🐾 Medical donations needed ‼️ Welcome sweet Prissy to ARFF! 🐶 Poor Prissy was an unwanted stray who was being looked after by neighbors, unfortunately she was hit by a car and has an extensive injury that will require surgery. Her hip was dislocated and she has a few open wounds from her accident. 💔 She was seen by our veterinarian yesterday and this morning the vet team attempted to get her hip corrected and back into place. Unfortunately it has been out of place too long, it did not stay in place and she will now require an FHO surgery (femoral head ostectomy). This will give her the best chance of keeping her leg and healing her hip! 🐾 We are thankful for her medical foster Megan for stepping up and keeping her safe while she is treated and healing! We have one week to raise the funds so she can have her surgery next Thursday! We have already paid over $500 for her care so far (X-rays/exam, attempted hip correction which required full sedation)— we need to raise approx $1000-1200 for her surgery! 🙏🏻💜 Any amount helps! Momma Wren 🐾🩷

Welcome Momma Wren and her 8 babies to ARFF! 🐾 We were contacted about two dumped pregnant dogs in Patton Springs. For those who don’t know, this is a very small community about an hour from us with ZERO resources for this type situation. The area is known to have coyotes and hogs. 💔 We worked frantically to come up with a plan as we are so full, we were blessed to find a temporary foster and a boarding facility to help! By the time our volunteers arrived, Momma Wren had dug a hole for shelter under a porch, and was giving birth. With the freezing rain coming down, we knew her babies would drown if we didn't act fast. Unfortunately one of her babies had already passed away when we arrived. 🙏🏻💔 You're safe now Wren. 🩷 This is just the beginning of your family's happy ending.
