Stalled horses are eating breakfast inside until the rain passes. Once it does, I’ll get who I can out and get stalls cleaned.

I nearly missed the National Day of the Horse. I want to thank all of my clients for trusting me to care for your beloved horses. I get to do what I love every single day because of all of you. A big shoutout to Logan my heart horse and Hudson my newest heart horse. I am blessed to have two beautiful handsome steeds with hearts of gold.

It stormed for about 4 hours early this morning. I got all of the stalled horses outside and will spray their feet off as they come in tonight. Those that are more sensitive to the cold have blankets on already and as the temperature drops today I’ll start blanketing the rest of them. I plan to give them all electrolytes tonight and wet their feed to keep them hydrated.

We had a massive storm roll through here early this morning. All of the horses are okay. But, it is wet here. I will try to get as many of the stalled horses as I can out today at least for a short time. The farrier has rescheduled to Monday due to weather.

The arena was sealed… looks like we are getting rain way earlier than anticipated.

11/30/2023

I am going to seal the arena tomorrow around two. It looks like we will have nonstop rain until Sunday. I’ll keep you all updated here on the footing and let you know as soon as I drag it.

We got more rain than expected last night. It’s pretty wet here. Stall horses will remain in for the day.

🤍Stall Boarders🤍
I have opened up one of the grass paddocks and and have been rotating the horses out on it. The second paddock will be open after this next week of rain and once everything dries. Thank you for your patience.

The Ranch got a quite a bit of rain today.. the arena appeared to be draining well. I’ll update everyone here on its condition tomorrow morning.

09/28/2023

We are having some cooler weather today… with some cloud cover and a nice breeze. Everyone seems to be enjoying it. Stalled horses will remain outside until it warms up this afternoon.

09/14/2023

We are doing some repairs in the workshop this afternoon so the power will be off in the tack room for a few hours.

09/12/2023

We have a lot of cloud coverage today and it feels pretty nice out. I am going to leave the stalled horses outside a bit longer today and will bring them in when it warms up.

On this day we remember those that lost their lives and those that lost their loved ones. May we honor the countless men and women that ran to those burning buildings to help those in need and to recover those lost. We honor our military men and women that fought for our country after the tragic events of 9/11 and their loved ones who also sacrificed so much during that time. God bless the USA ❤️💙🤍

May we all take time to reflect and remember where we were on that day and how we felt. May we live each day as we did on 9/11 because at that moment we were all Americans and United as one.

Boarder Update: We lost power about an hour ago. There is no power to the barn currently.

Stall Board Update:

In the next few weeks I am going to plant winter rye in the turnouts for the stalled horses. Therefore, turnout may be limited to smaller areas and the dry lots once it’s planted. This will only be for 6-8 weeks. Horses will still be turned out daily. The grass really took a beating this summer so this break in general will be good for the pens and allow the horses to graze all winter long once it’s established.

Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Pasture horses: the pastures are already planted with perennial rye and if the weather cooperates, it should start to sprout once it cools down.

The arena is dry and ready to ride and the grass is so grateful for the rain 🩵🤍💚

Boarder update: There is a lovely breeze today and all of the horses are enjoying being outside. So long as they seem comfortable the stalled horses will remain out for the day since they’ve been inside so much with the rain.

08/28/2023

As soon as everyone is done riding today, I am going to level and pack the arena for today and tomorrow’s rain. I ask that everyone stay off of it until
I harrow it once it dries. This will allow us to use it much faster and avoid water pooling. Thank you.

Boarder update: With the storms coming in this afternoon and tonight, I am going to leave all the stalled horses outside to stretch their legs as long as I can this morning. So long as it stays in the low 90’s and everyone seems comfortable.

Such a great trip to Vegas! Getting to spend time with friends and family in one of my favorite places, for one of my favorite events of the year for our industry is absolutely amazing. We met some awesome vendors at the trade show, watched great athletes both human and equine at the Run for a Million. This truly is an amazing event and an even better trip. Until next year!
A huge congratulations to Jason Vanlandingham and all of the other riders.

The horses have been handling the extreme heat very well so far. Everyone is drinking plenty of water and I’ve been cold hosing those that seem a bit off. So far so good though. Let’s pray for some rain and some cooler weather.
