Our adoption process works a bit different than other shelters and rescues. Paddy's Paws serves as a coordinator for Houston rescues. We send out the applications, arrange homevisits and secure back up
fosters for each of the dogs that will be transported here. Like most foster-based organizations, we do not have a facility and set up all appointments on an individual basis. Prior to any meet and greets, we require an approved application so you will need to go through all the steps before you can meet any of the available dogs in Wisconsin. The application, reference checks and homevisit are considered part of the general approval process and we cannot guarantee that a specific dog will still be available when you complete the process, but doing so will get you access to our "match making" service where you will have bios and pictures of multiple dogs that may be exactly what you're looking for! We start with the completed application and then check references/vet records. The next step is a homevisit with family and one of our representatives. Once we have gathered all this information, we provide it to the Houston team. Then, we can set up a meet and greet with available dogs. Essentially, Paddy's Paws provides the volunteer manpower and the Houston rescues, well, do the rescue! Adoptions are approved by the team and transportation is arranged! Iris is looking for a special adopter!
She's a girl who loves to sleep, and she loves to eat! While fully blind, Iris doesn't let this stop her from getting around. She has learned to navigate her foster home well. Iris has experience living with other dogs and she enjoys getting to sleep in her foster mom's bed along with the other dogs. Her foster has described her as a very content dog. Iris is about seven years old and weighs 32 pounds. She arrives in Wisconsin this weekend and would love to have an approved adopter waiting for her.

Max is ready to find his forever family!
Max is an adorable six year old dog who is super sweet! He lives with lots of other dogs in his foster home and enjoys their company. He has a handsome salt-and-pepper coat and he would love regular grooming appointments. He arrives in Wisconsin next weekend and is looking for a committed approved adopter who can meet him then.

⭐️Meet Starr!⭐️
Starr is a beautiful, sweet dog who found herself needing rescue as her elderly owner was no longer able to keep her or the large breed dog in the home (who went to a Saint Bernard rescue). Starr fit in really well at her foster home. She’s fostered with dogs of all shapes and sizes and she does well with all of the other dogs but really likes people best. She’s super calm and she’s been quiet in her foster home. Starr is able to sleep in the bed with her foster mom and she really would enjoy doing that in her forever home. She is about five years old and weighs around 20 pounds.

Besides all being adorable, these three dogs are also great with kids!
As we are a foster-based rescue, we are able to share first-hand experiences about each dog's personality and who they are comfortable interacting and living with. In addition to being good with kids, Rocky, Neil, and Scootie all have experience living with other dogs.

Good things come in small packages!
We know that saying is true as Allison is a fabulous dog! She may be teeny tiny and is petite as they come, weighing just six pounds, but she will fill your life with love. This sweet girl is about three years old. She has experience living with a dog much bigger than her, as well as smaller dogs. Allison loves getting comfy on the furniture, so would love to have that same option in her forever home.

Nina is one of the adorable travelers headed to Wisconsin the first weekend in February. This little doll is about a year old and weighs about 13 pounds. Rocko will be about five months old when he arrives in Wisconsin in early February. He is adorable! One look into his eyes and you will fall in love. He is playful, enjoys toys, and has experience living with other dogs. He currently weighs about 16 pounds.

We have many sweet and loving dogs in our rescue, including Maple!
Maple is about a year old and weighs about 40 pounds. She has a black shiny coat that has some curl to it! Maple is a sweet and sensitive soul who would love a family who is home often and is gentle with her. She loves the other dogs in her foster home and she is good with the cat, too!

Maxine ❤
This beautiful bulldog is a people person! Maxine thoroughly enjoys every human she meets. She is in great shape for a bulldog and we're happy to note that she is a healthy weight (about 30 pounds). Maxine is estimated to be about four years old. She loves her walks and will run to the door when her foster grabs the leash! Maxine lives with other dogs in her foster home, but prefers to not share food in their presence.

There must be someone out there looking for a cute, little dog who would like a quiet home with adults. Reggie was perfection as he waited patiently in the chair for his photograph to be taken. (See some of his photos in the comment).
Reggie is about two years old and he is used to living with other small dogs. He is working hard on feeling comfortable on a leash and around new people. Once he feels safe with you, he will melt into your arms and give sweet little kisses.

Looking for the sweetest dog? It's Roger! 😍
This was Roger waiting patiently to have his photo taken the same morning he arrived in Wisconsin after a long ride on a transport van from Texas.
He was so sweet and happily wagged his tail waiting for his turn to pose. Plus, Roger is great with other dogs! Roger is affectionate and cuddly. He is about 2.5 years old and weighs 16 pounds.

Paddy’s Paws believes in “Rescue Done Right!” Since beginning in late 2014, and officially becoming a nonprofit in November of 2015, Paddy’s Paws has helped over 2,100 dogs find forever homes. The main focus is to find good homes, for good dogs, with good people. Many of the dogs helped are from Houston, Texas. Why Houston? The Wisconsin-Texas connection stems from a friendship that Paddy’s Paws’ founder, Erin, had with the founder of the Houston-based rescue, Lola’s Lucky Day. After taking a trip to Houston, Erin witnessed firsthand the huge homeless pet population in Houston where many dogs were getting euthanized in shelters due to lack of space. Erin created Paddy’s Paws so that dogs who would normally have no chance, could have their second chance at life. Thanks to a solid foster program and dedicated volunteers, Paddy’s Paws expanded its rescue connections and currently works with three licensed rescues: Hooves and Hounds, Houston K-911 Rescue, and Lola’s Lucky Day. In addition to helping homeless dogs from Houston, it also assists with local owner surrenders in Wisconsin.
There are many reasons why Paddy’s Paws is unique. Paddy’s Paws provides animal education to local youth and creates countless community outreach opportunities. In addition to hosting fundraisers for dogs in need, Paddy’s Paws sends all adoption fees to the Houston rescues so they can help save more dogs. As of August 2018, over $600,000 has been sent back. Paddy’s Paws relies solely on the dedication of fabulous fosters and volunteers and the generous support of their followers. Paddy’s Paws uses its expert match-making skills and thorough approval process to ensure each dog goes to a home that is the best fit. Paddy’s Paws is more than just a rescue...Paddy’s Paws is a family. Always available to support adopters throughout the entire process, Paddy’s Paws takes delight in following the special journey of every dog who comes through the organization.
