Paddy’s Paws Rescue
Dept Ag License: 527862 Thank you for visiting Paddy's Paws! Our primary goal is to find adoptive homes for amazing dogs that are located in shelters, rescues and foster homes. Our adoption process works a bit different than other shelters and rescues. Paddy's Paws serves as a coordinator for Houston rescues. We send out the applications, arrange homevisits and secure back up
fosters for each of the dogs that will be transported here. Like most foster-based organizations, we do not have a facility and set up all appointments on an individual basis. Prior to any meet and greets, we require an approved application so you will need to go through all the steps before you can meet any of the available dogs in Wisconsin. The application, reference checks and homevisit are considered part of the general approval process and we cannot guarantee that a specific dog will still be available when you complete the process, but doing so will get you access to our "match making" service where you will have bios and pictures of multiple dogs that may be exactly what you're looking for! And, of course, there's always the possibility that the dog that sparked your initial interest will still be available! Begin your application process here: paddyspaws.blogspot.com
We start with the completed application and then check references/vet records. The next step is a homevisit with family and one of our representatives. Once we have gathered all this information, we provide it to the Houston team. Then, we can set up a meet and greet with available dogs. Essentially, Paddy's Paws provides the volunteer manpower and the Houston rescues, well, do the rescue! Adoptions are approved by the team and transportation is arranged! Blythe is about three years old and weighs about 13 pounds. This cute mixed breed is affectionate, especially when you give her patience to warm up to you. Quirky and cute, she is also very motherly. She is playful with the other dogs in her foster home. Blythe is very snuggly, which is where that couch will come in quite handy!
We'd love for Blythe to find her forever home in time for the holidays. She is accepting applications at paddyspaws.blogspot.com

Daisy is one adorable dog, especially with that underbite! Daisy is approximately a year old and weighs about 13 pounds. She has long, lean legs and a muscular little body. Daisy is a very cute and very fun dog! She lives with lots of other dogs in her foster home and is used to playing with them. As Daisy is playful and outgoing, she is hoping to find a home with a dog companion that likes to play and have fun too. Daisy has done great with house manners and is a polite dog in the house.

Priscilla is a super sweet pup who is a great combination of a dog who is playful, yet still has the ability to chill out.
She was found as a stray with another dog who has already been adopted. She is very loveable and will provide her future family with lots of affection. She would love an active home and enjoys the company of other dogs! Based on her age, she would do great with respectful children. In her current foster home she lives with lots of other dogs and loves having playmates to run around and play with. She currently weighs about 20 pounds. Priscilla would love to find her forever family!
Like most rescues, her breed is unknown and her adult size is a best guess. She will require a flexible schedule and regular socialization to become a happy, healthy pooch! Paddy's Paws will be getting Priscilla spayed the first week of November, so that will be all taken care of for her adopter.

ChiChi is excited to have the opportunity to travel to Wisconsin in hopes of being adopted by a forever family!
ChiChi is five months old and weighs about six pounds. ChiChi is young pup who loves to play all day long. She loves toys, treats, and following her foster mom around. Previously, ChiChi was overhanded by children and now does not like to be carried, but she still does loves pets. Her ideal home is one with no children and where her boundaries are respected (she's not carried around). A home who will be patient with her puppy ways and help her with potty training. She deserves a home who will give her all the attention and spoil her. She lives with other dogs and likes to play with them. There is also a cat in her foster home.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then Wilma’s video says a million!
This sweet, wiggly girl is so excited for her opportunity to find a home in Wisconsin. We don’t know her history, as she was found as a stray, but her personality shines as if she’s known no trouble!
Her adorable, low-rider body makes her a unique looking pooch, and her sweet brown eyes are just begging for you to choose her. At 15 pounds and five years old, she’s a great addition for a family with or without other dogs and children over 6.

Check out Coco having fun playing "hide and seek" in her foster's fenced in yard!
Here's some more information about Coco. She joined the Paddy's Paws family after being surrendered to our rescue with two other dogs. Paddy's Paws immediately got Coco into the vet so she could be vaccinated. We also had her spayed. Coco is an adorable girl who is looking for a patient adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to learn to trust and bond with her new family. Coco requires a secure fenced in yard in her adoptive home. She has lived with dogs before but she is not approved for a home with cats. With time, Coco will shower you with affection. Coco has experience living with a very respectful teenager, but does not have experience living with younger children. Based on her personality we are recommending an adults only home or one with older, calmer teenagers.

Rex
They say Christmas is a time for miracles..., well, Rex is definitely a miracle! In this video clip Rex shows us what he CAN do! Rex is a 10 month old yellow lab mix who is a special needs adoption. He currently weighs around 40 pounds. Due to a birth defect, he doesn't have use of his front legs, but that doesn't dim his bundle of sweetness and happy tail wags! He is incredibly independent with two functioning back legs and he even has his own set of wheels that he is learning to use! Rex is dog social and enjoys belly rubs! The perfect adoptive home would be a one-story home (minimal stairs) with more than 50% carpeting. Carpeted floors are easier for his independent mobility. A zero degree exit door would be beneficial too (or just one step) so that going out to go potty makes it easier for him (a deck with multiple up/down stairs would make it more difficult). Let's help Rex find his forever home before the new year!

Houston K-911 Rescue
Want to know how you can make a difference and help the homeless dogs of Houston? Please help us recognize and support the tireless efforts of our Houston rescue partners, like Houston K-911 Rescue. They help homeless and neglected dogs 365 days a year, and this week has been no different. Check out just one of the rescues that Houston K-911 Rescue made today. Watch this video to see what they deal with on a daily basis. Then share this video to get the word out. Finally, consider donating to help them with the medical care and daily expenses they have. After Hurricane Harvey, they need our help more than ever. They are a volunteer run organization, just like Paddy's Paws. They need our support. Please help us help them so they can continue to save more dogs in need.

These adorable puppies don't want the Wisconsin transport van to leave without them this weekend, but so far none of them have an adoptive hold. We want to try and get them more interest so they don't have to be left behind. They are Doberman mixes and mom is about 60 pounds. Dad is a mixed breed who is about 65-70 pounds. They are good with other dogs and kids!

2016 was a fantastic year for Paddy's Paws! This year we helped almost 1,000 dogs find their forever homes! Please watch our highlight video...it will be the best five minutes of your whole year :) Then share the video with your friends so we can continue raising awareness of our important work.
This year we also educated local youth in the community about the importance of adopting, brought awareness to the homeless pet crisis in Houston, and raised funds for dogs in need. We are so grateful to all of our rescue partners, fosters, volunteers, supporters, and adopters. In 2017, we look forward to continuing our mission to help dogs in need.

Paddy’s Paws believes in “Rescue Done Right!” Since beginning in late 2014, and officially becoming a nonprofit in November of 2015, Paddy’s Paws has helped over 2,100 dogs find forever homes. The main focus is to find good homes, for good dogs, with good people. Many of the dogs helped are from Houston, Texas. Why Houston? The Wisconsin-Texas connection stems from a friendship that Paddy’s Paws’ founder, Erin, had with the founder of the Houston-based rescue, Lola’s Lucky Day. After taking a trip to Houston, Erin witnessed firsthand the huge homeless pet population in Houston where many dogs were getting euthanized in shelters due to lack of space. Erin created Paddy’s Paws so that dogs who would normally have no chance, could have their second chance at life. Thanks to a solid foster program and dedicated volunteers, Paddy’s Paws expanded its rescue connections and currently works with three licensed rescues: Hooves and Hounds, Houston K-911 Rescue, and Lola’s Lucky Day. In addition to helping homeless dogs from Houston, it also assists with local owner surrenders in Wisconsin.
There are many reasons why Paddy’s Paws is unique. Paddy’s Paws provides animal education to local youth and creates countless community outreach opportunities. In addition to hosting fundraisers for dogs in need, Paddy’s Paws sends all adoption fees to the Houston rescues so they can help save more dogs. As of August 2018, over $600,000 has been sent back. Paddy’s Paws relies solely on the dedication of fabulous fosters and volunteers and the generous support of their followers. Paddy’s Paws uses its expert match-making skills and thorough approval process to ensure each dog goes to a home that is the best fit. Paddy’s Paws is more than just a rescue...Paddy’s Paws is a family. Always available to support adopters throughout the entire process, Paddy’s Paws takes delight in following the special journey of every dog who comes through the organization. Thank you for helping Paddy’s Paws change a life...one dog at a time.
