Rio came to visit us after ingesting an unknown amount of ibuprofen. After some activated charcoal he was ready to go home🐶 Activated charcoal is used to help protect the GI tract from toxins. 🐺🩺

This is Berry🐱 Berry was surrendered for inappropriate urination. Our friends at Animal Rescue of the Rockies helped find him a new home! We recently received an update that Berry loves treats! He plays with his doggie brother and may have a catio in his future! 🐺🩺

‼️GRAPHIC PICTURE‼️One of the best parts of owning a lab is their appetite for anything. This lab came in for overdosing on medication. Emesis was induced and charcoal was given. Charcoal acts as an absorbent by binding to the toxins, and preventing further absorption into the body!

Did you know?
A pyometra is an infection that occurs when bacteria invade the uterus, causing it to become filled with pus. This condition can affect cats and dogs of any age if they have not been spayed. If a pyometra is not promptly surgically addressed, the animal will die. Never let the sun set on a pyo!

This 6 year old little cat came to us as an emergency for lethargy and anorexia. A quick abdominal scan showed us was the problem was (a VERY large angry uterus). Less than an hour later, she was on the operating table to get a life saving surgery (where both the uterus and ovaries were removed). A uterus weight 20% of her total body weight! She’s back at home now and we wish her and her family a speedy recovery!

This morning one of our doctors, Dr. Miller, induced vomiting on a sweet German shepherd. She found both a large hairball and foam bedding!

Ever wonder what laparoscopic surgery actually looks like? The wonderful Fink, 8yr female (supposedly spayed!) German Shepherd came to us with an open pyometra (an infection of the uterus). A blood test confirmed she still had some ovarian tissue somewhere in her body, so we went looking for it!
Here you can see our travelling surgeon using laparoscopic equipment to remove the culprit (a bit of o***y that was left behind 7 years ago!). By using small incisions and a camera, laparoscopic surgery helps minimize trauma. This means faster recovery times, reduced pain, and smaller scars for your dogs and cats alike!

Fink made an uneventful recovery and was back to being a perfectly happy dogs in few days! Swipe to see her enjoying to Colorado snow!
