Here is the premium for the upcoming CDHA and BVKC Fall Herding Cluster to be held September 26 - 30th at Rancho Terra Norte in Wellington, CO. There will be 2 - D course trials on Thursday, Sept 26th. Then CDHA will host 2 days of A, B, C and tests on Friday Sept 27th and Saturday Sept 28th, then BVKC will host 2 days of A,B,C and tests on Sunday Sept 29th and Monday Sept 30th. CDHA is also offering Farm Dog Certification tests on Saturday with 2 evaluators. Enter CDHA at:

Herding Friends - remember that we are going to be hosting our December Herding Fun Day on Sunday, December 17th starting at 10 am (weather permitting). Open practice sessions on the course of choice in the morning (for beginners we will have a coach and stock set up in the instinct testing arena). Potluck lunch - there will be tamales and pozole provided, please bring a side to share. They a fun ranch exercise for everyone to participate. All levels of dogs and handlers welcome. Cost $25/dog.

Here is the premium for the upcoming CDHA/BVKC herding weekend Sept 28 - Oct 2nd at Rancho Terra Norte’ in Wellington, CO. Offering A,B,C and D courses, plus tests including Farm Dog Certification.

In addition to hosting herding trials/tests annually, CDHA sponsors various herding instinct tests and demonstrations throughout the year. This organization of approximately 50 members, actively promotes the sport of livestock herding.

Continental Divide Herding Association held it’s 13th annual Ranchdog Gymkhana at the Larimer County Fair in Loveland CO last evening. Lots of spectators watched local dogs compete in a point and time trial. Young Alex did great in the Novice goat class - well enough to bring home some cash from the jackpot! Thanks to all the participants and club members for helping to make the event a great success.

This time and point arena trial will be held in the Longhorn Outdoor Arena at the Ranch Complex in Loveland, CO There will be 2 divisions - Novice & Advanced with runs on Sheep and Goats. Ties will be decided on best score on cross-drive
Novice: Dog has not earned Started AKC or Open ASCA title.
Advanced: Dog has a Started AKC or Open ASCA title.
Handlers in each division (novice or advances) will be eligible to win a jackpot made up of 50% of the purse, paid out to the top three scores (most points in the least time) (1st place 50%, 2nd place 30%, and 3rd place 20%). In addition there will be a $100 cash prize for the highest combined score (sheep & goats) with the same dog. CDHA Fun Day and Annual Meeting

Now that 2020 is in the rear-view mirror and 2021 is off to a promising start – we invite you to the annual CDHA Herding Fun Day and membership meetings. We will be hosting a herding fun day on next Saturday (March 6th) at Rancho Terra Norte’ in Wellington, CO. There will be sheep and goats set up to work on the courses of choice, cost is $20/dog benefitting CDHA. We will also offer herding instinct testing in the HT arena for those who are new to herding. Plan to bring a dog and help kick start CDHA’s new year.

Also plan to attend CDHA’s Annual Membership Meeting on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 7 PM. Due to existing COVID conditions, we will be holding the Annual Membership meeting virtually via Zoom. For those of you unfamiliar with Zoom meetings – you need only to click on the link and it will take you to the Zoom platform and our meeting.
