2025 has started off with the sound of new hooves. We welcomed six horses and their families to our barn family this week. We're thrilled to have them join us.

Welcome Buck, Clark, Thunder, Amore, Patron and Archie.

Here's what our boarders have to say about their horses and GreenAcres.

🐴Rachel and Buck
Buck is a 9 yr old Tennessee Walker with a spunky personality. We have been looking for a boarding facility that would accommodate both of our needs. When we found GreenAcres, I knew it was the perfect place. It is clean, horses look great, trails at the facility, and they truly care for the horses that board. Absolutely grateful to know Buck is taken care of here.

🐴Lexi and Clark
Clark Kent is a 8 year old thoroughbred with a lot of personality. Previous boarding facilities have failed to meet both me and Clark’s needs. When we came and toured Green Acres I knew Clark would be in good hands. The facility is so clean, well taken care of, and the horses are happy and in great health. The people there are amazing and truly care about you and your horses needs. I couldn’t ask for a better place for me and Clark!

🐴Catherine, Amore and Thunder
Amore is a quirky, exuberant 15 year old Hanoverian x TB who needs lots of room to run around! Thunder is a ~27 year old pony with a laidback and adorable personality. What drew me to GreenAcres is the individualized care and attention to detail that Lisa and Cara provide, as well as the peaceful atmosphere. With their different needs it has been difficult to find a facility that could provide a high quality of care for them both. We’ve only been here a short while but they’re loving the space and making new friends!

❄️ **Yay, Winter Solstice!** ❄️

The shortest day of the year is behind us, and now we’re officially heading into longer days! 🌅✨ From here on out, we’ll start to see **more daylight**, which means more time for training horses and enjoying the outdoors.

We're excited for the extra sunlight to help us maximize our training sessions and give our horses the attention they deserve. Plus, here’s hoping for a little more warmth soon too! 🌞🐴

Our stalls feature an open design with removable walls, which means we can **convert a single stall into a double** (or even a triple!) when needed. This flexibility is especially useful for extra-large horses or horses that are undergoing confinement and need more space to move around comfortably. 🌱

✨ **Adaptability** is key! We can adjust our facilities to meet the unique needs of any horse, ensuring they have the space and care they require to thrive.

Our stalls are all unique, because we provide individualized care for each horse:
- Some stalls have troughs for hay, others feature hay nets—whatever works best for the horse’s eating habits.
- Every stall is equipped with blanket bars to keep your horse’s blankets neat and easily accessible.
- Placards display each horse’s important info, so we’re always on the same page.
- Hooks are available to hold your gear, keeping everything organized and within reach.

✨ **Color-coded grain bins**: We’ve got our grain organized by color for easy, efficient mixing—no time wasted, just perfect feed every time!
✨ **Color-coded feed buckets**: Each horse has a designated bucket, and if they need their grain soaked, it’s marked clearly so we never miss a beat.
✨ **Big Bertha**: Our trusty grain holder! She’s a game changer—we premix two days' worth of grain at a time, saving us time and ensuring consistency.
✨ **Our beautiful diagram whiteboard**: It keeps us all on the same page. From feeding schedules to special instructions, everything’s neatly laid out for maximum efficiency.
✨ **The Supplies Shelf**: We’ve got a spot for everything, and we’ll share more details soon on how we keep everything organized and ready to go.
✨ **Manager on Call Calendar**: Always know who’s in charge! Our calendar keeps track of which manager is on call for the day, so we’re all aligned on who to contact for any special needs.

Facilities Focus:
Our tidy tack room!

Featuring:
- baseboard heaters for a toasty space
- emergency kit
- storage bins that carry all the essentials you could need (spare sheets and blanket parts)
- saddle rack and two bridle hooks for each horse
- 'warm bin' for all those important items that can't freeze in the CO winter
- GA equipment, we provide shared equipment when possible. Can't find something, ask if we have it!

Facilities Focus:
Our small arena, featuring Cara's poles set up for work.

The small arena (still a *full-sized* arena) often has Cara's latest cavaletti configuration set up for easy training use.

The current configuration features trot polls on the long and short side, trot poles with alternate sides raised, canter polls bending on the short side, a free side for lateral work, small cross rail jump, and big cross rail jump! Each of these serve a purpose horses at varying levels of training.
