Meet Critical Incident Stress Management (CISMTD) therapy dog Pez
Meet Critical Incident Stress Management (CISMTD) therapy dog Pez. Pez provides emotional wellness support to his fire rescue team at North Lauderdale Station 34. His handler Lieutenant Carrasco is proud of the stress relief Pez is providing to the department. Everything from loading up in emergency vehicles to providing much needed snuggles and some funny antics when Pez is at work its hard to have a bad day.
The North Lauderdale Fire Rescue Department has a mission to prevent the loss of life and minimize property damage by providing outstanding service in the areas of Fire Suppression and Prevention, Emergency Medical Services, Life Safety Code Enforcement, Public Education, Fire Investigation, and Professional Development Training. Their goal is to provide the best Fire and Emergency Medical Services to all residents and visitors in our community.

Just one of the many reasons why I love teaching tricks. Karma did her therapy work at Broward Health mostly in pediatrics. Sometimes we couldn't visit kids that were in isolation but we could show them tricks outside their hospital door. Everyone loved her.
Today, my Magical Canine Connections Animal Assisted Therapy Program teams and I are going back to the hospital for National Nurses Week. We thank and appreciate all our First Responder friends. You are our true heroes.
