Big Dog Ranch Rescue visited LCDAS today and toured our facility. As you can see by their name, they are a dog rescue but left with not only 14 dogs, but a kitten as well. Long-term resident Arlo, Monty, Dave, Rigby, and rescue Gracie were among those to travel back to Big Dog Ranch. We thank them for their support and look forward to our continued partnership.

Lee County Domestic Animal Services resumes normal business hours today. If you have lost a pet or found a stray, please visit our lost and found center. Not everyone relies on social media, and they may be searching for their family member. Should you be interested in adopting the pet you found, an application can be submitted at that time for adoption at the end of the stray hold period. They will be spay/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and have a county license.

Our shelter pets had some gifts from under our gift giving tree today thanks to donors such as former adopter Diane. As you can see, they were all too busy with their new toys to pose for photos 😂.

Saturday, December 21st from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. is the Check the Chip Day. Bring your pet to our shelter location at 5600 Banner Drive to ensure their microchip information is up to date. No microchip? No worries. We will chip onsite free of charge!

What are the benefits of microchipping?
Permanent identification: A microchip offers reliable and long-lasting identification.
Increased reunion chances: It helps identify lost pets swiftly.
Discourages theft.
Simple and quick procedure: The implantation is done with a needle in your vet’s office.
Non-invasive and unobtrusive: Unlike collars or tags, a microchip is securely implanted beneath the pet's skin.

See you tomorrow!
