Day 40 and she FINALLY drops 56 good eggs! Last 2 seasons have been rough. Partho, another partho (no survivors from either, including a mocha anthrax), I lost an AMAZING breeder DH white ocelot female due to her going egg bound possibly carrying jag tiger ocelots, then, I recently threw away the last of a OG marble sun het ocelot clutch. Not always great clutch’s and healthy hatchlings. The frustration and stress is real. Im lucky to have a few individuals I can reach out to that have a wealth of knowledge and learn what I can from the unfortunate situations and keep moving forward. Those are the real ones 💪🏻…not many around these days. Anyways…hopefully these incubate well!! I’ll continue to be stressed until something hatch’s over here haha

Finally! She had me worried all week, laying the occasional bad egg and even one random egg a week and a half after her pre-lay shed—which I’ve never seen before. Regardless of how this clutch turns out, I’m just relieved she decided to lay them already, especially given my recent losing streak. Last season was rough: two partho clutches, tossing 60-70 eggs, and losing the absolute nicest non-locality normal female to being egg-bound while she may have been holding jaguar tiger ocelots. After all that, I didn’t have high hopes for this girl either. Seeing her lay is a big relief. These animals are always teaching me something new, I’m just here to learn….and sometimes be stressed out 😆
