Send all the well wishes and prayers for Momma Lu today as she gets her Ovarian Sparing Spay 😭😭 it’s always so risky for Danes to go under anesthesia, I trust I picked a good vet and we did a pre surgery blood panel, but it’s still nerve wracking.

I know a lot of y’all have wondered why I’m choosing to spay her after 2 litters. The reason is that while she was a great mother in the sense of raising and feeding all 18 puppies on her own (I never needed to supplement feedings) and well as cleaning after them and caring for them, she just doesn’t love being a mother. I could tell how bored she was and she would do the right thing by her puppies, but it was a strain on her more than a joy. Also, the whole process takes her out of sports for about 6 months, which just isn’t fair to her while she is having the best time doing sports and at her peak physical age. So after litter #2, I made the decision that spaying her would be the best thing. I don’t have the capacity to get another dog right now, so that’s why Cowtown Danes won’t have any planned litters for the foreseeable future. I do hope to keep the lineage going with Meatball and he will finish his health testing this year. Please keep reaching out for breeding referrals or if you want to be on a waitlist for one of Meatball’s litters.
I’m so grateful for all the people who have poured into us in this process. Thank you for all your wisdom and knowledge and answering my frantic calls. I’m thankful for the stud dog owners for trusting me with their lineages and working with me on this program, I’m so proud of how these puppies are developing and maturing. ❤️

I will never get over how much I love this dog!!! She is just so fun, smart, and has a bold personality. If you have a Lu puppy you probably know what I’m talking about cause they will let you know their big opinions 😂 at around 2.5-3 yrs old she has really settled into her training and being such a steady dog (which she always has been but she’s shed her puppy antics). I can take her anywhere and she will just chill by my side, or here we were at the local downtown park by the ocean where it was crazy busy. There was a dog that got off-leash and the owners no joke spent 25+ minutes chasing it around the park trying to get it to stop chasing squirrels. And while chasing squirrels is Lu’s favorite thing ever, her recall and focus has gotten so steady that we could play frisbee without her caring to interact with any of the chaos going on.

Goodbye Texas! We are officially moving on Nov 1st to our new place in Florida! This has been something we have been working towards for almost a year now and the pieces are finally coming together 🙌🏼 we will of COURSE still be Cowtown Danes, but just adding the beach to our daily lives. We are so excited, and y’all will get to be brought along as I move all 3 of the dogs in my car 17 hours away lol

Pupdate! Puppies are HUGE! They are toddling around, playing, eating mush, and overall doing great. They’re starting off with organic goats milk and a balanced raw meat diet (yum 😋). We have started litter box training and they are using it so well! Makes cleaning up after 10 of them much easier. As usual, im most active on insta, but I try to remember to come on Facebook and post here too!
