Fourth of July is a fun time to celebrate our independence and spend it with family and friends. However, Independence Day is often one of the worst times for our beloved dogs. They don't always understand the loud noises and can be easily frightened by fireworks. Especially if outside - scared pets can get loose and end up lost.

Accidents DO happen. It's always a good idea to have a plan to keep everyone calm and safe in the event of a lost pet. It's always a good idea to microchip your pets, so they can be reunited with you if they accidentally get out. If your pet happens to get lost on the 4th of July, we also recommend you create a profile on Petco Love Lost which is a free site from that helps reunite pets with their owners!

1 in 3 pets go missing in their lifetime. Petco Love has partnered with us, and shelters across the country to help bring them home. If you happen to find a lost pet over the holidays, be sure to check for a microchip and create a profile for it so the owners can find it faster!
