We’re thrilled to introduce our Greek mythology liter. All but ONE of these sweet kittens have already found their forever homes, through our waitlist email the first week they were avalible! A couple of them will even be going home together which we at Maine C***s By The Sea LOVE to see!

Little Atlas is our only kitten from Cleo’s litter born August 20th that is still available. He is the most curious of the litter always wanting to right under someone wondering what they’re up to and wanting all the attention 🐾 💕 This guy would make a great addition to any home looking for a curious and affectionate snuggler 🥰
To note: the brown by his ears is similar to his brother from our lion king litter - Zazu. Zazus brown by his ears has since transitioned into his adult coloring which is more consistent with his bodily coloring (white and black) pictures of Zazu as a baby and Zazu now are attached as the last photo in this post.

🐾 Maine C**n vs. House Cat: How Do They Compare? All in good fun as well love ALL cats🐾

Size: Maine C***s are one of the largest domestic cat breeds, often weighing 10-25 lbs, while house cats are typically smaller, around 8-11 lbs. Maine c***s also have a much longer and a bit taller body than house cats.

Fur: Maine C***s typically have long, thick fur with a ruff around their neck, while house cats usually have shorter, thinner coats.

Ears: Maine C***s have tufted ears (often called lynx tips), which house cats lack.

Tail: Maine C***s have a long, bushy tail, while house cats’ tails are usually thinner.

Personality: Maine C***s are known for being social, playful, and dog-like, while house cats are generally more independent but still affectionate!

Maine C***s have a reputation for being quite vocal in addition to typical meow of house cats, they are known for their chirping, trilling sounds or hums. These noises are often used to communicate with their humans, especially when they are excited or want attention.

📸 Featured Feline: Galilea - One of Our Gorgeous Dilute Torbie's! 🐾

Did you know? 🤔 In the world of “fancy cat”registration with TICA (The International Cat Association), cats that many know as “calico” are officially called “tortie with white” or “torbie with white”!

So, what’s the difference between a tortie and a torbie?

Tortie (Tortoiseshell):

• Color Breakdown: Torties have a beautiful mix of black and red patches. The dilute versions, like our featured cat, showcase softer hues of blue (gray) and cream.
• Pattern Breakdown: The colors appear in large, random patches with no specific pattern. Each tortie is uniquely patterned!

Torbie (Tortoiseshell Tabby):

• Color Breakdown: Torbies also combine the same colors as torties but with an added twist of tabby stripes. In dilute torbies, these stripes are blue and cream.
• Pattern Breakdown: You’ll see a mix of patches and stripes, giving them a marbled or striped look in addition to the traditional tortie coloring.

In summary, while torties have solid color patches, torbies add a layer of tabby striping, even if it’s hard to see there is still a slight stripping, making each one uniquely beautiful!
